The bond

"Is it true someone can have everything and yet be sad?"
Serah asked her friend on the playground during the break.

"Of course, because sometimes what you want might not be what you have," Diana replied.

Serah lived with her father since her mother remarried and her Dad has been trying his best to make her happy, he does everything she needs all the time.

Diana on the other side lives with her parents but they don't care about what she wants or what makes her happy, they believe that since they have money she will be happy automatically, they are not always home and Diana was left in the care of her Nanny Julie who stays in their house as well.

Serah and Diana became friends three years ago and it feels like they have been friends since birth, they are in the same class, and that made them closer.

"I never knew someone could still be sad even when he or she has whatever they need," Serah continued the conversation.

"Yeah because my parents never knew I was not happy despite all the luxury life," Diana replied before the end of the break time alarm sounded.

Everyone got back to continue their class activities and the day went well. When it was closing time, Serah's father was around to pick up his daughter but Diana's driver hadn't shown up.

"Daddy! Daddy!! Daddy!!!," Serah shouted with joy and ran to hug her daddy immediately she saw him at the gate.

"I wish my dad came to pick me up like that," Diana muttered, when Serah was about to leave with her dad she waved to Diana but then she noticed how sad she was so she asked her Dad.

"Daddy, can my friend come with us to play for some time?" Serah asked her Dad.

"And what about her parents?" Serah's Dad asked.

"They are always busy and her driver always comes late to pick her up from school," Serah explained.

"Ok," Serah's Dad replied and before he could look back Serah ran to grab Diana's hand.

"My dad said you can play in our house for some time before the driver arrives," Serah said to Diana happily, Diana was happy because she doesn't have anyone to play with at home except for the Nanny who will probably be busy with chores.

So the three of them left for Serah's house and on their way Diana dropped the location for her driver so that he could come pick her up there when he's ready to come. They got to Serah's house and immediately they got to the gate a cute dog ran outside to greet Serah.

"Hey kaffy," Serah said as she carried her beautiful dog.

"Wow she's so cute," Diana admired Sarah's dog when they got into the house.

"Hey little princess, you and your friend should have lunch before playing," Serah's Dad said as he went to the kitchen.

"Your Dad cooks?" Diana asked with a surprised look.

"Yes of course since it's just the two of us," Serah replied.

"But why can't he get a Nanny like my parents?" Diana asked again.

"Well, I wanted to make sure my little princess is happy and that is why I do everything for her by myself," Serah's Dad hijacked the response Serah was about to give her friend because he could hear their conversation in the kitchen.

"That's good sir and I wish my parents could do that for me as well," Diana replied. They ate lunch and went outside to play, they got to the backyard and Diana said, "Wow you guys have a farm, even a wheelbarrow? Have never seen this before,".

"My Dad loves to farm a lot," Serah said. After that the two of them started playing with Kaffy, while playing with Kaffy, Serah noticed how much her dog made Diana happy. Some hours later Diana's driver came and when Diana was about to leave she said to Serah.

"I love Kaffy she's so cute and thanks for inviting me over to your house I wish to do this over and over again," Diana said and Serah quickly replied.

"Why not, I love having you around and Kaffy loves you too," Serah said as she made use of Kaffy's hand to wave to Diana as she entered into the car.

Some months later, Diana's birthday was the next day and Serah didn't know what to give to her so she asked her Dad.

"Dad tomorrow is my friend's birthday and I don't know what to give her," Serah said sadly.

"What makes her happy," her Dad asked.

"I really can't tell but I know she's happy playing with kaffy," Serah replied.

"Then let's get a cute dog for her just like yours," Serah's Dad replied.

"Wow, that sounds great," Serah was excited to hear that so her dad went to the veterinary close by with her to get a puppy for Diana.

The next day which was Diana's birthday, Serah's Dad dressed up a basket with lots of flowers and then put the puppy inside after that, they put the basket in the car and went to Diana's house to wish her a happy birthday.

A car horned at the gate and immediately after the gateman opened the gate Diana's mother looked through the window and asked her husband.

"Are we throwing a party today,"

"Don't tell me you forgot it's your baby's birthday," Diana's father replied to his wife.

They both talked for some minutes before they heard a knock on the door even though they knew someone was driving into their compound.

Serah and her Dad got in and both families exchanged greetings before Diana came out of her room and she was so happy to see Serah.

"We are Diana's friends," Serah's Dad said to Diana's parents after greeting eachother.

"Oh really, you are welcome here," Diana's father said to Serah's Dad.

"Happy birthday," Serah said to Diana immediately after she stepped out of her room.

"Thank you," Diana replied as she hugged Serah.

"We have a little surprise for you," Serah's Dad replied.

"Really," Diana replied with a smile on her face.

"Come with me," Serah's Dad replied as he went back outside everyone followed him and he brought out a basket well decorated with a little puppy inside of it.

"Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! I love this dog, she's so cute," Diana shouted immediately Serah's Dad handed over the Dog to her.

"Is this happening? I now have a puppy wow," Diana replied happily and her parents were surprised at the way she was reacting to the gift.

"Have never seen her so happy like this," Diana's mother whispered to her husband.

"Yeah, me too," Diana's father replied.

They all went back inside and the birthday went out well, ever since that day Diana's father realized that they didn't know more about their daughter and they were too occupied with work instead of spending quality time with their daughter to know what makes her happy.

I love how Sarah's dad is always there for her, making sure she is happy and taken care of. And how sweet of her to invite Diana over to play when her driver didn't show up. It's clear that she had a big heart and cared deeply for her friend.

And let's not forget about Kaffy, the adorable dog who brings so much happiness to everyone around her. I can just imagine her wagging her tail and playing with the kids.

But the real star of the story is Sarah's dad, who goes above and beyond to make sure she is happy. I mean, he even cooks for her. And how thoughtful of him to get a puppy for Diana's birthday. He's a great dad who loves his daughter very much.

Yeah I also love how Serah's Dad took his time to be there for his child because nobody can take care of the child as he does

Having material things doesn't really give happiness, there are so many people who are rich, living luxurious life yet they are unhappy just like the case of Diana. Meeting Sarah was a break through for her as she opened lead her to find the true source of her happiness

Your story has so much morals, I enjoyed reading through

Yes o material things doesn't guarantee happiness and am glad Diana became Serah's friend if not she wouldn't have seen someone to bring out the happiness in her.

This story has a strong arc. You planned it well. You set up the conflict early. Diana is lacking one thing: attention from her parents. It's obvious from your last paragraphs that they love her, but they do not spend enough time with her.

The introduction of the dog is perfect, and the wheelbarrow prompt fits right in. You do a good job here, @princess-dara

Thank you for sharing this with us!

Yeah most parents love their children but their work didn't give them chance to create the bond.
Am glad you like the story thanks.
