How I survived work and study together

Being a full-time student in school, and juggling with work can be so stressful, tedious, and draining of one's energy and in the end, the breakdown happens. That is never easy, but is there another option when you know it's the only way for you if you do not want to involve in illegal activities, especially youths who exchange their bodies for money, all in the quest for survival in school?

Let me praise myself in a little way; Princess, you are just too good and a strong lady!
Today, I am still amazed at how I could multitask with both work and study during my degree studies then. Many times, I have developed migraines, headaches, and fevers all because I stressed myself, but in all, I never stopped because I know what I wanted for myself.

Since I know it is through my blogging, that I get money to help me survive in school and help me get handouts, pay some necessary dues, and do stuff as a student, I had to balance both of them so that I don't have to keep borrowing or begging money from people to help sort things out or engage in illegal stuff as a student.

While some students came from wealthy homes and had someone to help them, the only thing helping me is my work and I just couldn't leave it to face my academics because I know if I do, I will struggle hard except for God is my source.

I have seen some colleagues of mine who complained about working and studying together but had to give up on one just to focus on academics. I am not better than anyone though, but I appreciate God for the strength He gave me and the resilient spirit to never give up on any.

When I started focusing more on blogging platforms after gaining admission into the University, I had to create time for both my work online and my studies in school and none never distracted the other. It was all about Time Management.

I had to create time and made my study plan from my work (blogging) since I never wanted anything to distract me from my primary assignment which was to come out successfully with my certificate.

I had no one to help me in school except my elder sister who took up the responsibility of sending me to the University even when I told her, I won't be able to go because I thought I won't survive but she told me to go.

When I got to school, I decided not to disturb her or add to what she was doing for me and my other siblings. She is the firstborn and also the breadwinner in the family, so I pity her for the responsibility and this was what made me develop the habit of discipline to manage work and study.

Self-discipline was the second tip that helped me survive both.

It got to a point, people were surprised seeing how I engage so actively online and still have time to read which made them know that once you are determined not to lose on both sides, you will work it out.

Many times I have had sleepless nights to be active with my work while during the day, I create time for studies as I would have to attend lectures. I also engage online in school especially when there is a free lecture and it didn't affect my academics because I knew what I was doing and also focused on achieving the best with both of them. I never ignored the place of rest too, because I wouldn't be here talking if I never gave time for rest.

Even during the examination, I still find myself engaging online while I read simultaneously because I couldn't give up one for another. How I did it, only by God's grace because I just couldn't leave my blog empty without posting.

I was managing three blogging platforms then and none affected another. It's just a matter of self-discipline to know when to study and when to work and you will be fine.

In most cases, when I feel I was getting too pressured, I split my time for the day. The first part was for studies (reading) and the other part for working. But that didn't make me leave one for the other.

I am a strong lady who knows what she is doing. Even if I am on my phone for the whole day, I still have time to study my books and to God be the glory, I never carried any course over.

Whenever exams are around the corner and my friends see me on phone, they would be like “Don't copy that girl because she knows what she is doing”.

Work and study never disturb each other for me because I was able to manage my time effectively and still achieved what I wanted and still achieved more.

Because of my self-discipline, rest, and time management, I graduated without suffering or going through some tough challenges most students go through just to survive in school.

Thanks for your time

It's just a matter of self-discipline to know when to study and when to work and you will be fine

Exactly! That's what a lot of people who are involved in school and work are missing, you just have to be disciplined enough to not let one interfere with the other. When it's time to work, focus on that and when it's time to study, focus on only that, but some people have really messed up schedule and poor time management; they will be studying and before you know it, they have run off to work

The best is it for you when you can manage and apply your time wisely in which one will not interfere with the other. If you can know your way through it, you will surely see it smooth and easier. Thank you 😊

Wow... Very impressive. I like how you were able to streamline them both to make them work without affecting each other. That's good.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

You are indeed a strong woman, combining studies and blogging is a lot of task. You took it up and created balance between them, you really need to teach a lot of students especially females how you were able to achieve this much.

That is my problem. None of them want to take the stress but want fast money and I don't have time for that. Lol

They aren't in for the stress, some will even go on to say that they weren't born for wahala so who was born for wahala?

I hope it isn't late before they realise that they are losing a lot.

hi Princess🤗 It really does come down to self-discipline and time management, doesn't it... I was always very good at that during school/University... I fell off the deep end a bit with Hive... balancing writing / curating / etc etc but having reset my focus... I am doing better again... I agree that setting specific times aside for specific activities and responsibilities works better...and then not allowing much in the way of distraction during those times... so that you can be more efficient in completing it. I think it's fantastic that you were able to juggle school and work so well and graduate on time too ... the rest part I need to get better at... !LOLZ... but I have been getting some earlier nights during the week and feel better for it 💗 Thank you for the lovely share x

Avoiding distraction is the best method to be efficient when it comes to balancing work and study together. It wasn't easy but with proper management and discipline, one will definitely scale through.
Thank you so much ma 😊
