The monetized hobbies which I am grateful for.

Now, when you pick up something to ease your stress and keep you entertained, and which brings pleasure to you in your leisure time is called a "hobby". You just find yourself doing it over and over again until it becomes an addiction; something you cannot do without and which has become part of you. Hardly would anyone want to talk you into stopping it because you find pleasure in it. But, some hobbies are dangerous if not curtailed. Let's be careful!

Seeing this first weekly edition, I was reminded of a friend of my Dad who heard me singing one day and said that I have a good voice. I smiled because I was just a little girl, that compliment alone kept me singing every time. I have loved singing right from when I was so young. It got to a point when I started growing up and living with my aunt, she would always smile when I turn every word into songs, like when she instructed me to do something i.e "Busayo, go and get me this thing in my room", I would walk slowly while I turn the word to songs. I love singing and it became a favourite hobby of mine.

Yes, I knew all along that singing songs can bring in money because I see those music artists singing on stage and making money for themselves. I see those choristers in the church being called to perform at an event and they are appreciated. There was a time I had a reason to join the choir in my church, it was because any time there was a big event and they were called to come and minister, they always keep their food separate even if others do not get food to eat. I was attracted by that act and decided I would join the choristers too so that I don't need to fight or stress myself for food at a party or any programme that we were being called on to perform. Of course, I joined even though I was dragged to, because I was shy to make my request known.

Most times, I would be given a task to compose songs for presentation which is what I love to do. In the course of my singing and being carried away, I tend to be lost in the spirit while being given inspiration for new songs. Immediately, I would pause and write down so that I don't forget. When I started using a phone, recording new songs from my heart was way easier than writing them down because I could forget while doing that. In another case, when I am singing, I make sure my phone is in the recording mood because I know new lyrics could come out unexpectedly, and instead of pausing along the way, it is already being recorded. Then, I would listen after I am done and smile knowing how sweet the lyrics are.

This, I kept doing every day because it wasn't a hobby anymore but an addiction. I can't go a day not singing because as I am typing this content, I am humming a song repeatedly in my mind. Then, Hive came and the opportunity to begin a new journey into making money. I remembered joining the Hive Open Mic community two years ago when I asked for more information from Khaleesii _{(I don't want to tag her because she has left Hive for a while now and doing this might bring her here while being curious about her name mentioned).} I guess most people know her because she is a great singer and active member in that community. She helped me for a little while before I got my way around it and started earning some amount on my videos.

A hobby that turned into something I earn from is all thanks to Hive blockchain. I wouldn't have been earning with this hobby if not for Hive because I don't see myself becoming a music artist since I know what I want for myself. Singing is just a hobby and my way of being grateful to God every day and helping me stay connected to the source of my life. I only get much interest in Gospel songs, this is why I so much love the Bethel music and would always find new songs from them to sing and also present in the community.

Another major one which I have written a lot about it already and how it has been putting food on my table is writing. I have loved writing stories and writing song lyrics at a very young age. I was in Junior Secondary School by that time and ever since fallen in love with writing. I started monetizing writing which was my hobby back then during Steemit days, went from there into joining other platforms and finally relocated to Hive where it has been a wonderful place to turn my writing hobby into money which I have been enjoying till now. I have other hobbies too, like reading, watching movies, listening to music etc, but I do not want to go into much details but limit to these two.

Singing is a very interesting thing and being a singer generate fortunes.

Your post brings back a memory of when I was freestyling with a beat I got on the net. When people heard my freestyle, they wanted me to go for music but I chose nursing instead because of my zeal for it.

I even freestyled the first verse of Eminem's song titled "the way I am" on a Coolio's free beat (gangsters paradise) and it was very much perfect.
