This week came and in a few hours, we would be welcoming another gigantic week; well, I choose to call it that because I know how hectic it becomes for me every week. I already spent 3 weeks in this town and all I can say is that it has been a great one, and at the same time, busy one for me that, at the end of the day, I feel so weak – thank God for coffee that keeps me active to do what I need to do before retiring to bed.

Before now, I have always been at home enjoying my solitude lifestyle while working on my phone and system, not until NYSC came and things changed. I became someone who would always look forward to Fridays and when it came, I would smile and mutter silently in my mind, "TGIF" (Thank God it's Friday) and when Monday arrives, I hiss incessantly and wish it never came. But this is what I wanted for myself as I need to move forward.

I am in the next phase of my life where I am serving my fatherland as a Nigerian Youth Corper and it has been something I ever wanted right from the beginning. I wanted to wear that uniform, and I did. That was as a result of graduating from the University with a good grade and being qualified to go for service. During my University years, I studied Guidance and Counselling and it has been something I am grateful for even though I wanted something different. I wanted to study business administration but along the line, plans changed and I guess it was for the best.

I have always talked about my love for teaching right from when I was a child and walking through the path now has been a blissful journey so far as I have taught and still teaching which I wouldn't want to stop doing because I love teaching the young ones. These young ones are just growing and their minds are still fragile, teaching them the right thing now would guide their path in the right way as they keep transitioning from lower grades to higher grades just like I did which brought me to where I am today.

After my NYSC, I do not plan to stop but to furthermore for my Masters. Right from time, I'd wanted to do my masters abroad and not here in my country as I have come to realise how beneficial it is to study abroad, especially with complete resources that aren't available here. There are more opportunities for studying overseas because of what you would be trained and taught to become. The educational system here in our country is so poor that I wouldn't want to further here. The ones I have gone through from primary to university levels are enough for me as I want more solid knowledge.

This plan has been on my mind all the time and I have been taking steps towards it. Though it costs lots of money, I won't stop saving and planning for it. For my masters, I would like to go into the field of counselling and teaching education. I want to learn more and go deeper in counselling while taking on digital opportunities relating to it. I don't want to leave the field of my career which is teaching alongside counselling.

Even though I have come to love writing which has become my second path in life. While studying for my masters, I would continue my writing skills online while taking more courses online to give me insight and help me dive deeper into the field. So, if the opportunity comes for me to further my education, I won't hesitate to grab it.

What if I choose not to study that, would it make any difference? You know what? It wouldn't! Sometimes, I still find myself contemplating whether to leave teaching and focus more on writing because it is what I have come to enjoy and love doing. But I kept having the thought that even if I don't teach anymore, it won't pain me as long as I write and while doing that, I am educating which equals teaching for me.

Education is good when there are resources to keep you going. The inability of an individual to further his or her education is due to a lack of financial resources and it is why most people would work towards being granted a scholarship which wouldn't cost any dime from them apart from other expenses for such an individual. So it is my goal to further more to study for my masters abroad.
