Hello everyone, Hope you are doing good...

I won't say Kharkiv is a city of food but here you will find different cuisine especially Turkish cuisine, Georgian Cuisine, Japanese Cuisine (mostly sushi), Indian Cuisine available. There is two authentic Mexican Restaurant available where you can taste authentic Mexican food.

But Continental Food (European cuisine) is available everywhere and of course, how can I forget Ukrainian Food. I don't know why but I don't like Traditional Ukrainian Cuisine at all. Maybe because I am a spice girl that's why.

After tasting food from Uzbekistan, I became a fan of them, they are so so delicious. Well, in Kharkiv there are two authentic Uzbekistan restaurants available where you will find original food from Uzbekistan. Both restaurants owner is the same, he has been doing business here for 30 years almost.

First, he opened a small restaurant, which is still in Barabashovo Market (the biggest market of eastern Ukraine) and started his business from there. After that, he has opened another branch which is situated a very well known expensive place in Kharkiv city.

Plov :

I went to both of his restaurants but there is a price difference. One restaurant which is situated in the market, price is cheaper than the fine dining restaurant (2nd one).

This rice is called "Plov (pilaf)" served with salad and spicy chatni. There is mutton and beef plov both are available and all are halal food which means a lot as I am a Muslim. I try to eat Halal food. Plove is made of meat and carrot and some spice, similar to Biriyani but not too strong considering spice.

Uzbeki Shurpa:

I don't like mutton so I took all the beef items. This is beef curry with large slices of potatoes and served with sour yogurt, not too spicy but if you don't like spice, then you shouldn't taste it. Also, they serve Bread baking in Samarkand with this dish.

The name of this dish is known as "Uzbeki Shurpa".

Uzbeki Manti :

Last but not least, I have tasted these dumplings called " Uzbekistan Manti ", very delicious and popular among Ukrainians. These dumplings are filled with meat and soup is also very delicious.

As I have said, you can mix extra spice chatni (sauce) with it if you are a spice person.

I recommend you to taste Uzbekistan cuisine, especially these three dishes because they are really very delicious and mouth-watering. As I have mentioned, I am not a very foodie person and I am very choosy but this cuisine (especially their Plov) blow away my mind more than Indian Biriyani.

Price was cheap, for 3 people, we spent almost 25$ or 625 UAH which was not bad at all.
