#NeedleWorkMonday Dino Story part 1

(Edited)

Hello I have been strongly attached to dinosaurs for some time. Maybe it's all influenced by the fact that my son also likes them and constantly some dinosaur makes attempts to "eat" me. That's our game with the little one - he chases me with a dinosaur and growls after me.

Today I want to introduce you to one such dinosaur that I started knitting for him - our little dinosaur family is starting to grow.

Eventually we gave this particular dinosaur to his cousin when we visited him in England.

It all starts with building the individual parts. I don't know why, but I definitely find knitting the bigger pieces to be a kind of relaxation, relaxation and even meditation until I get to the small pieces that drive me crazy.

So I can have an idea how the dinosaur head turned out, I filled it with silicone fluff. you can see I haven't sewn the head yet. I always proceed to stitching when I am done with all the elements.

Everything looked good and in place so I continued with my hated feet. they are made by creating 3 identical small elements, with the last one not cutting the yarn but continuing to knit around it.

Connect the remaining toes and start knitting in the round. And so on until the entire "recipe" of the foot(sole) is completed.

I finished the first leg and continued with the second. I filled the first one with fluff to see how cute it got. Perhaps my favorite part of knitting toys is stuffing them with silicone fluff. I fill them a little more to make sure they don't get squished in the wash.

Since I got nervous about these small items I decided to go back to the bigger ones - to calm my nerves :D

This is the tail of the dinosaur. The pattern I'm using is very suitable for making larger dinosaurs, but I'm using a thin yarn - the dinosaur is small at about 12-15 cm.

I've become a real fan of this thinner yarn for a while and buy it in all sorts of colours. I have about 5 shades of green at the moment - I'm going to make dinosaurs :D

After I finished the tail, I went back to the "bums" on the legs. Still the feet need to hook onto something.

To finish it off, I made the belly. I still have to finish the spikes that will be on the dinosaur's head back and tail.

The dinosaur turned out very well..I'll share in the second part of the article how things went with it. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the already finished dinosaur but I have it in almost finished form.

See you soon while I finish the second part of the article about this cute dinosaur!
