Your daily schedule as a working mom

My working day as a mother is filled with many quirks. I work from home and my son who is 2 years old has not yet been admitted to nursery. So every day is a challenge.

To make things happen I have to get up early and check most of the tasks off my work day. I get up around 6-6:30, make a coffee and sit at the computer, making sure to be quick because I don't know what time my son will wake up.

The last month has been a bit difficult as he was growing maybe the last teeth for this period of his life (milk teeth growth) and falling asleep at night was very difficult, there have been nights he has held me up to 2 hours considering he hasn't slept during the day. There have been times he would sleep from 8:00PM to 10:00PM and say I slept in and chase each other around the apartment until 4. If I've started work at 9 - that means he's kept me up until 4am...

By 11:00-11:30AM he wakes up and I'm done with the first phase of my work day. I make a breakfast/lunch - the time of his meal is weird and I can't tell if it's breakfast or lunch. Then I let him play with his toys for a bit. The nice thing about him is that he is independent and doesn't insist on someone playing with him every time, sometimes he just wants to be left alone, so I drag the computer into the other room and carry on.

By 4 o'clock I make an attempt to put him to sleep - but how can I when he was up 3-4-5 hours ago... It's a 99% failed attempt. By 5 o'clock he falls asleep. Upstairs at this time his father comes home too. While we tell each other who had what day I prepare the meal. I've mentioned many times - I cook in the evening - I make cakes in the evening.. late at night not to say straight into 2AM... as long as the little one is asleep.

By 8AM the little one wakes up ready for new exploits. We set the table and have dinner. Depending on when the meal is done and if it's ready or needs more prepping the two of them play with their dad or watch a favorite children's movie.

I'm ready to fall asleep at 5 o'clock but can't...

Моят работен ден като майка е изпълнен с много странности. Работя от вкъщи и сина ми който е на 2 години все още не е приет на ясла. Така че всеки ден е цяло предизвикателство.

За да се случат нещата трябва да стана рано и да отметна повечето от задачите от работният си ден. Ставам около 6-6:30, правя си едно кафе и засядам на компютъра, като гледам да съм бърза, защото не знам в кой момент ще се събуди сина ми.

Последният месец беше малко труден тъй като му растяха може би последните зъби за този период от живота му (растеж на млечни зъби) и заспиването вечер беше много трудно, имало е вечери които ме е държал до 2 часа, като се има на предвид че не е спал през деня. Имало е случаи да спи от 8:00PM до 10:00PM и да каже наспах се и да се гоним из апартамента до 4. Ако съм започнала работа към 9 - това означа, че ме е държал до 4 сутринта будна...

Към 11:00-11:30AM се събужда и аз приключвам с първата фаза на работният ми ден. Направам една закуско-обяд - часът на храненето му е странен и не мога да го определя дали е закуска или обяд. След това го оставям малко да поиграе с играчките си. Хубавото при него е че е самостоятелен и не държи всеки път да играе някой с него, понякога иска само да не е сам, затова премъквам компютъра в другата стая и продължавам.

Към 4 часа правя опит да го приспя - но как да стане като е станал преди 3-4-5 часа ... Неуспешен опит е на 99%. Към 5 часа заспива. Горе долу по това време се прибира и баща му. Докато си разкажем кой какъв ден е имал приготвям яденето. Много пъти съм споменавала - готвя вечер - правя торти вечер .. късно вечер да не кажа направо в 2AM... стига малкия да спи.

Към 8 часа малкия се събужда готов за нови подвизи. Подготвяме масата и вечеряме. В зависимост кога е станало яденето и дали е готово или има нужда от още приготвяне играят двамата с баща си или гледат любимо детско филмче.

Аз съм готова да заспя още в 5 часа ама не може...
