Drawing a man from an old photo!!!
I’m so happy I was able to finish this portrait I started yesterday earlier this evening. I made a post about it yesterday while it was in the sketching stage.

It was indeed a different experience drawing from an old printed photo, almost like drawing from life. Of course you have to freehand to avoid ruining the image with a grid. I personally find it cliché posting my drawing alongside the reference photo but this was the perfect opportunity to try it for a change.
My muse for this drawing wanted to revive this old photo of his for his 70th birthday later this week. I accepted the task.
I used a few simple materials. 3 shades of Steadtler graphite pencils, Generals charcoal pencils and Conte à Paris charcoal. A few blending materials too, brushes and cotton buds.
