A LETTER TO DEAR NEWBIES ON HIVE

avatar

Just like a new student in the university needs an orientation programme, just as a football player needs a coach, just as farmer needs knowledge, so does a newbie on hive needs a guide. I'm happy for the numerous programmes that organised annually for the sake of newbies like the usual newbies initiative tasks by the hive learners community and ongoing newbies marathon from dreemport and numerous other campaigns and these were just to mention but a few.

Before diving into my letter for our dear newbies, i want to first of all welcome and congratulate them all for being a part of the big family where we all support, gain knowledge, learn and earn. Welcome on board newbies.

A LETTER TO NEWBIES

Koolshooters -pexels

Good day and Welcome on board our beloved newbies, it is a thing of joy to welcome you all into the fountain of learning and exploration (hive). The first thing you should do as a newbie is first of all getting to know how the platform operates, probably should have already been discussed with your mentor who introduced you into the platform.

Next step to take after knowing how the platform operates, is getting to know your fellow authors. They are so many authors out there who write good and useful articles on a daily, these articles need sights and engagements to reach out and stand out therefore, it is quite mandatory to look into as many articles as possible, read and make reasonable points out of those articles in the comments sections and these is what the platform refers to as Engagement.

Benefits of engaging on people's post are,

  • Visibility: Engaging on other authors articles by reading and making reasonably comments under their articles, gives them the impression that you are not just a good reader but also wise thinker. This is where your reputation begins to climb initially and authors begin to find you reasonable. This alone can make an author quickly look into your article in a community without them being asked to, because they already have a good reputation about you.

  • Learning: Obviously the more you read and engage on articles here on hive, the more you learn and gain more knowledge about people, tribes, life and humanity in a whole.

  • Improved writing: Yes, you study your favorite authors and learn from them, study the structure at which quality contents are being made, build on it, and apply your own wisdom to it. This is how you grow and improve in due time.

Engagement is a wide request on hive as they are lots of benefits attached to it and it also helps the platform to grow, therefore engagement should be your first priority as a newbie in other to grow.

Hive is known for its quality and genuine contents therefore, it is import to always stay original with your contents, properly source any items which are not yours, and most importantly NO PLAGIARISM. A lot of newbies fall victims to plagiarisms when making online research towards writing an article of their own, unknowingly dub other authors contents into their articles without giving credits, this is forbidden on hive and i plead with newbie to stay original with their articles.

Artificial intelligence is a very powerful tool but they aren't to be used on hive for writing posts as it would eventually get you muted and flagged by the hive watchers who are tirelessly working on bringing down AI written contents on hive. So it is important to create your own articles by yourself.

I really do not want to give you a lengthy write in other to save you time as i believe i must have highlighted the main and important keys to thriving here with us all on hive, we will keep supporting you and ourselves and we will continue to grow.

        Yours faithfully,
           Cherrs 🥂

I don’t know why most people plagiarise when they can just sit and write their own quality post. Maybe they’re just lazy or they’re busy. If you’re lazy or busy then don’t write a post. No post is better than ruining your reputation on the blockchain cos once you’re caught there’s no coming back.

Thanks for the advice, I hope we all learn from it.

Yes i agree with you and you are right but another thing i understood is that, some people do it unconsciously, they just don't know what plagiarism is until they become victims. They felt they were just making an online research concerning a particular topic and carelessly dub online contents into their articles. It is only after they fall victims that they get to understand what plagiarism is.

Thank you so much admin.

I think by now we all know that we are to source anything that’s taken from the internet so everyone knows it’s source. Well, life is a learning process
