LIVING IS NOT SO CONVINIENT THESE DAYS.

I believe when basic amenities are readily available and set, every other needs is quite easy to get. Well, in my country, so many basics amenities are yet to be provided, especially the ones from the government. Electricity, good road network, establishment of water in rural areas, regulation of price of food and other goods and some services.

Just last month when the Dollar rate to Naira went up, the prices went so high. Some goods became ×3 of their initial price and there was a lot of ranting and complaning online and offline. It really affected us here, most especially foodstuffs and cooking gas. I thank God the hike in price did not affect the petrol else, things would have gone worse. Living in this current Nigeria as a student of any tertiary institution is a big deal. You get to spend money and swest everyday to get a degree in a country where the percentage of job employment is way too low compared to over 120 million youths living in the country. Getting foodstuffs that would last and be sufficient for a month with moderate feeding is close to $80 now.

Now, the price of Dollar to Naira have gone down yet the prices of goods and service haven't changed, so annoying. These same trades who were using the rate of dollars as a reason to why they increased prices are yet to bring down their prices. I undertsand they need to sell out the goods they bought too but it's almost 3 weeks now and no change in price ? Nah that's too bad. Just last year, were complaining about the prices of things but we never saw it coming this year and the year is still young. I remeber when a particular measurement of rice was just 180 naira now the current price is 1000 naira.

Comparing the cost of living here to other countries. I know just little about other countries but I am sure of that cost of living is much higher in more developed countries. Starting from housing, an average man in any advanced country spend close to times 5 the price a Nigerian would get a 4 star house here. For foodstuffs, the neighbouring countries are not that bad, except for the goods that are imported from Nigeria into these neighbouring countries . But every other things produced in these countries are quite cheaper.

My present earning is even low for me to relocate, how will I cope where ever I relocate except things are way cheaper there. Most of my earning goes into school stuffs and transport fare. I would have suggested maybe Ghana but I do not know the current cost of living over there. Instead of relocating maybe overseas, I would rather see how I can improve myself, become more valuable and seize oppurtunity to earn way much more than I am currently. Then, I can be rest assured that I can live conviniently in other countries. For now, let's hope and pray for a better life in our country.

Thank You For Reading Till The End
