To do this, I needed to unlock the Geologist, a profession that allows for the discovery of new mineral deposits within existing mines, ensuring they never fully run dry. With a steady flow of iron ore, I will finally have the raw material needed to build an armory and tool workshops. This will not only boost my economy but also provide the constant supply of gear required to properly arm the city guard against the bandits.

However, there was a major catch. This specific research required 25 units of bread as part of the payment. Here’s the problem: bread is not produced in my village because the eternal winter makes it impossible to grow wheat. Even worse, buying it from the merchant in small batches was useless, as the townnies—who are already struggling with food shortages—would devour the bread as soon as it hit the warehouse. I needed a way to buy all 25 units at once before they could be eaten.

To pull this off, I had to refine my fiscal strategy. I decided to slightly increase taxes to gather a large sum of gold quickly. To prevent a rebellion and keep the townnies happy despite the tax hike, I built an extra house for more revenue and a new church to boost their spiritual satisfaction. Once I had a decent pile of Thalers, I gathered the rest by selling a massive shipment of iron ingots, leather, and other goods produced in my settlement.

The play was a resounding success. I managed to buy all 25 units of bread in one go and immediately paid for the research before a single loaf could be stolen or eaten. The Geologist is now available, and every so often, I can fully restore the iron deposits within the mines. This ensures my industrial heart keeps beating regardless of the scarcity of the "Frozen Front." We are slowly turning this wasteland into a fortified powerhouse.

Mi objetivo principal en esta sesión era asegurar el futuro de mi industria aumentando las reservas de hierro en las minas. Para ello, necesitaba desbloquear al Geólogo, una profesión que permite buscar más depósitos de mineral dentro de las minas para seguir explotándolas sin que se agoten. Con un flujo constante de mineral de hierro, tendré la materia prima necesaria para construir la armería y los talleres de herramientas. Esto no solo propulsará mi economía, sino que me dará los bienes constantes para seguir construyendo y equipar bien a la guardia de la ciudad contra los bandidos.

Pero había un gran inconveniente. Esta investigación específica requería 25 unidades de pan como parte del pago. El problema es que el pan no se produce en mi aldea, ya que el invierno eterno no permite que crezca el trigo. Además, comprarlo al mercader por partes era inútil, ya que los townnies —que de por sí ya tienen problemas con la comida— se devorarían el pan apenas llegara al almacén. Necesitaba una forma de comprar las 25 unidades de golpe antes de que desaparecieran en sus estómagos.

Para lograrlo, tuve que refinar mi estrategia fiscal. Decidí aumentar ligeramente los impuestos para reunir una gran cantidad de oro rápidamente. Para evitar que los townnies se enojaran por el hachazo impositivo, construí una casa extra para recaudar más y una nueva iglesia para mantenerlos felices y conformes. Una vez que reuní una buena cantidad de taleros, completé el resto vendiendo un cargamento masivo de lingotes de hierro, cuero y otros bienes producidos en mi asentamiento.

La jugada fue un éxito rotundo. Logré comprar las 25 unidades de pan de una sola vez y pagué la investigación inmediatamente antes de que se comieran ni un solo pan. Ahora tengo al geólogo disponible y cada cierto tiempo podré restaurar completamente los depósitos de hierro dentro de las minas. Esto asegura que mi corazón industrial siga latiendo a pesar de la escasez del "Frente Helado". Poco a poco estamos convirtiendo este páramo en una potencia fortificada.
