LEARNING IS DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE…

Learning new things everyday is one of the things i am very good at, this is not a petty affirmation but rather a raw and confirmed fact about myself. I realized how fast and good i am at learning new things when i picked up an hand work i didn’t learn legally. I am talking about my framework, i didn’t learn printing works the right way, i was able to learn it by working side by side with someone with more knowledge, experience and understanding of how the work works. Working with him a couple of times kinda helped me learn how to do it and before I knew it, i was earning quite a bit from it and now it’s now something I partially do for a living, which means i have my own customers who patronize me time to time…

It was at this moment I realized how i was built and how much i can improve if i willing to make the sacrifice of giving it more time, learning can be easy to some people and can also be very hard to others, this is not an ailment or a sickness, it’s normal. Everyone is built and wired differently, what comes easily to others might be the hardest thing for other people, it’s not a crime, that’s just how they are wired…

Whatever interests and amazes me is always very easy for me to learn, and this is because when i see something amazing, interesting and unique, my eyes automatically sends to learn it to my brain, and when the request-to-learn gets to my brain, I manually accept the request and immediately everything i saw and see after accepting the request-to-learn automatically get stored in my head for as long as i want…

Learning is not hard. It all depends on the person involved and their capabilities, it will be very easy for someone to understand it well if the person is determined and willing to learn, but when it doesn’t interests or amazes that person, that person tends to be very slow in picking it up, and at the end of the day might not know that particular thing…

This is because we are wired differently, and also it also depends on the person involved, is he/she willing and ready to learn or he/she just want to learn it for the sake of it. Well, that is that about that, so without wasting too much time on my introduction, join me as i dive right into what i have for you all today on the topic; easy to learn and hard to learn;

   IT WAS JUST SO EASY…

It all started about 2-3 years when i had to take some time off from my initial hand work; shoe making, i had to take sometime off because of my examination that year. Unfortunately for me, after my examination that year, i had to stop learning for many reasons and that was how I ended up staying at home all day until that opportunity came knocking on my door…

My girlfriend’s brother who was into printing works asked me out one day, he asked me out to a job he couldn’t do on his own, which means he needed an assistant for some days and since i was free, he asked me out and that was how i went with him…

I have always been seeing his works online but after witnessing it first hand and how he does it and the prices he does it, i was able to start picking up a couple of things from there, slowly I developed a big interest in learning just one part of the work, which was frame work and suprise packages. It didn’t take me 4 months before I started going out to help him do and deliver some frame works, since he has other projects at hand…

This was how I learnt how to make frames and organize surprise gifts, for the past two years now i have been earning quite a bit from it and it is serving me well, my determination and willingness got me a good result…

Today i have my own customers and my boss also has his own customers, i even refer my people to him whenever i am pretty occupied, and that is how it has been for years now and i am proud I picked it up perfectly well…

IT WAS JUST TOO HARD THAT I HAD TO
             WALK AWAY…

This happened when i was still an apprentice as my shoe making boss place, my boss has a friend who comes over to do some jobs at his workshop, this person was a Phone engineer, he comes to our shop several times to get some work done. One day i saw him changing a phone’s charging port and i was like this is easy, i told him i wanted to learn it, he laughed and started coming over to work at our shop for my sake, little did I know it wasn’t easy lol…

He kept on working and explaining some things to me about how to fix phones, he was mentioning some strange names, everything was just too complicated that I started getting confused lol, everything started hurting my head, even after months I wasn’t able to assist him with anything while working, after some time i gave up and decided to face my shoe making work. This was how i gave up learning how to repair phones, there were so many risks attached to the job and I wasn’t ready to be a victim of such lol, debt is real…

In summary, comparing the two instances together, I think the main reason i wasn’t able to learn how to fix phones was because of the pay and most importantly, it was a boring job, and i am the opposite of that…

In conclusion, I realized determination and willingness aren’t the only qualities i need to learn every new thing, i also need to consider it effect on me before going into it…

     THANKS FOR READING…

From the three jobs you mentioned here, one would know that you are the type that love handiwork. Learning phone engineering can be very challenging bro, I tried it too but I wasn't built for that.

Determination plays a huge factor in learning and it make a huge difference when applied to learning but there are still things we can't know due to the nature of person we are.

I had to read, re-read, re-read again the part of "he asked me out" in order not to be odd in my thought. Lol🤣

Nice write up🙌

Having a positive mindset to learning makes it look easy. Shoe making and frame making are great skills 👌.

Your phone learning experience reminded of a man that spoiled my first phone completely. Just to change the inbuilt battery, oga spoiled everything, I discovered he even used cello tape to hold some inner part of the phone. After his quawk engineer work, the phone refused to on forever.
