Family time is precious, golden, and beautiful. It is one of the most interesting and cherished memories a man can create in his journey through life. It is a gift of a lifetime, provided there is happiness and joy all through those moments, it is nothing short of memorable...

When it comes to family time, a lot of men in the past have taken the time and opportunity to create beautiful and lasting memories with their family for granted, and this is because they never understood the beauty and importance of having some me time with their families. One of the most important benefits of spending time with one family is the flawless bonding and healthy memories that are created along the way, people who know and understand the importance of it would pay a million dollars to have this special time with their families...

I have come across different species of men in the last couple of decades, those who never miss the opportunity to spend quality time with their family and those who find or make up one or two excuses for not having time for their family. Building a family is quite the task but breaking it is the easiest of all things to do...

The earlier we understand this the better it is for us, the best way to create a long-lasting, beautiful, valuable, and priceless memory during family time is by staying very far away from any form of distraction during that time, an example of such distraction is office related tasks and phones, these two things are major turn off during family time...

Well, that was a brief intro friend, moving on to what I have for you all today on the topic; family time no phones. I will be sharing my two cents on this topic in the next paragraphs below;

The word family time is quite self-explanatory. If I am not mistaken, I believe family time is meant for creating beautiful, long-lasting, and cherishable memories with one family. If this is indeed the right definition of family time, don't you think the use of a phone during this time beats the initial purpose of that family time, this is a big distraction and hindrance to creating that beautiful memory...

It is highly expected of a normal person to stay away from his or her phone during family time, it is called family time for goodness sake, so everything that is not family-related should be taken out of the picture...

The fact is that during family time, the use of phones should be banned to an extent if not completely, it is a different case to be in the company of one phone during family time and all one's attention is drifted from the family memories and bond being created and strengthened while doing something unimportant on the phone when one can keep away the phone and spend time with family...

It is also a different case to be in the company of one phone during family time, and the motive behind this is to be available when there is an emergency that needs one's attention. The use of phones in this case is different as it is a matter relating to one's life and death, which is why I said it should be banned to an extent because some people use them for the wrong things during that time...

When there is a family dinner, the use of phones should be highly prohibited because whenever the phone rings or one attention drifts away as a result of the phone, the connection that is being established over that family dinner gets severed automatically, but guess what friends, the use of mobile phones during family dinner is now in vogue, everyone does it for different reasons, I have shared a couple of those reasons above...

I strongly believe the nonstop use of phones during family dinners is a connection and bond-breaking factor, for instance, a family get-together was planned to celebrate your successful admission into the tertiary institution, on the night when every one of your family members has been brought together to celebrate you, and while mum and dad were sharing a few speeches on how lucky they are to be your parents, you as the celebrant, on the other hand, was on the dining table glued to your phone chatting god knows who...

In this case, it is impossible for the connection to be maintained, everyone at the dining table will never forget such a disgusting act, which is why the use of phones during family dinner should be highly prohibited if it lacks control or is beyond normal...

In summary, everyone in my household is kind of used to the 21st-century lifestyle, our parents don't need to shout at us at the dinner table for the use of phones, if they say it once and you refuse to listen, say goodbye to your phone and anything can happen depending on their mood at that moment...

In conclusion, it's been ages since we last had a family dinner in my household, I guess family dinner is kinda a weird thing in middle-class families lol, our parents hardly care or even notice something like the use of phones during dinner as a big issue. The highest they will do is to tell you to keep your phone while you eat, simple and short...
