Welcome back to my blog, @queen-silvia, In this Social Media Challenge, I am going to share to all of you the epic battle how to counter magic team with Alric Stormbringer as the summoner. Generally speaking, in order to counter magic team, we need 4 kind of abilities, Void, Silence, Magic Reflect, and Amplify. Void and Silence ability will reduce the magic attack from the opponent, Magic Reflect will give magic attack back to the attacker and amplify will increase the magic attack reflected. - Void, Silence, Magic Reflect, and Amplify Overview -

Alright, before jumping into the match, I would like to explain about 4 great skills which can counter magic attack perfectly! 😍

1. Void

The first ability is Void. Great players usually placed monster with this ability in the first position since most of magic attack are going to the first position of opponent monster. They intended to hold all of the magic attack with Void monsters since the magic attack will be reduced when hit monster with magic attack. Magic attack damage gets halved (rounded up), except attack 1 which deals 0 damage.

2. Magic Reflect

The second ability is magic reflect. When monsters with magic reflect ability got hit by magic attack, it will be reflected back to the attacker. The damage deal equivalent to the attacker's damage divided by 2, rounded up. The damage is reflected even if the attacker does not hit. Some Players usually combined this ability with amplify in order to increase the damage which is reflected back to the attacker.

3. Amplify

The third ability is amplify. This ability increase the damage as the result of Thorn, Return Fire and Magic reflect ability. This ability is so great that even if it's not our turn, we can give high damage to the attacker. In order to activate this ability, the player should predict what kind of attack will be given and in what direction. For example, If we predict that the opponent will use melee attack with sneak monster, we need to put Thorn monster in last position and put monster with amplify ability. Second example, if we suspect that the enemy will give magic attack to the first position then we have to put magic reflect monster in the first position and put amplify monster in any position.
4. Silence

The last ability is Silence. This ability will reduce magic attack of the opponent's team. This ability is very great if we used magic reflect and amplify at the same time. Let me give an example, if the damage of opponent magic monster is 2, it will be reduced into 1 and the magic reflect plus amplify ability will reflect the magic attack with 2 damage as amplify increased the damage. Pretty interesting, isn't? 😁

Alright, the ruleset is Fog of war and Healed out. In this battle all attacks will be going to the first position except there are monsters with opportunity or Scattershot ability. Here are the explanation of both skills:

Monsters lose the Sneak and Snipe abilities. A good tank and a balanced line up of Magic and Ranged monsters is the trick to win in this ruleset. Great tank for this ruleset is Legionnaire Alvar since he has 9 Void armour and 7 Health Point at max. level.
healed-out.pngHealed Out
All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners. Life Leech and repair abilities are not impacted by this ruleset. The best option is to kill enemies first before they did.

Summoner

Mimmosa Nightshade

Mimosa Nightshade is the best summoner to debuff monsters with magic and ranged attack ability since she gives Void and Minus 1 ranged attack to all of friendly monsters. I used this summoner once I saw that last 5 battles of my opponents were using many magic monsters with Alric Stormbringer as the summoner.

Monster

Prismatic Energy (1).png
Prismatic Energy

Alright, The first monster that I used in the battlefield is Lv.5 Prismatic Energy who has 2 magic, 4 speed and 10 health points. It's a perfect monster against magic attack since it has Void and Magic Reflect at this level. We need 1 monster with amplify to make magic counter perfect. In order to make this monster immortal, we can use 1 monster with tank heal ability but as the ruleset is healed out, we won't be able to use tank heal monster at this match.

Creeping Ooze (1).png
Creeping Ooze

The second monster in the battlefield is Creeping ooze. This monster's ability is slow which can reduce the enemies speed so it gives 2 advantages, first it will allow us to increase the chance to hit the enemy since higher speed means higher probability to hit when attacking enemies. The second advantage is increasing the chance for our monsters to evade enemies attack since higher attack will rise the chance for the opponent's monster to miss their attack.

Elven Mystic (1).png
Elven Mystic

The third monster is Elven Mystic. This monster has silence ability which reduce magic attack of all of the enemies monsters. At level 6, he has 5 health point and 4 speed which makes him a fast monster. At this level, he has 1 magic attack only so the main usage of this monster is to reduce the magic attack. I put him in the third position since he has the highest health point in the backline, so in case of Prismatic energy and Creeping Ooze killed, he will be the best tank for the team.

Death Elemental

The forth monster is Death Elemental. He has the same ability as Elven Mystic, Silence. So I used 2 Silence monsters which reduce magic attack of the opponent's monster by 2 but silence could not reduce magic attack to zero (the minimum is 1). Another Death elemental skill is snipe but since the ruleset is fog of war, the snipe ability is negated.

Weirding Warrior (1).png
Weirding Warrior

The fifth monster is Weirding Warrior. I put him in this position since he is a ranged attack type monster. At level 5, he has 2 ranged attack, 3 speed and 3 health. Pretty good statistic for monster with 2 mana cost. Another amazing skill is Shatter which destroys the armour of the target monster. This ability is pretty useful against opponent who use summoner which gives additional armour such as Tyrus Paladium, Grandmaster Rathe, Drake of Arnak, etc.

Furious Chicken (1).png
Furious Chicken

The last monster is furious chicken. This monster has nothing to do with the attack. The main purpose of this monster is just for a sacrifice if the opponent is using sneak monster. So the chicken will absorb that 1 sneak attack. This monster is cost 0 mana so feel free to use it when we have free slot for monster.

- Battle Analysis -

Round 1

In The first round, as I have expected, the opponent used 3 magic monsters with Alric Stormbringer to increase the magic attack. Unfortunately the silence ability from Elven Mystic and Death Elemental reduced the opponent's magic attack into 1 only. The Void ability make the magic attack worse since all of their magic attack has no damage to Prismatic energy. In this round, Magic reflect plus amplify gives 2 magic attack and killed ice pixie.

Round 2

I round 2, The reflected magic attack which can deal 2 damage now kill Venari Wavesmith. Her 1 magic damage killed herself. Now the opponent monsters are just 4 monster left, with only 2 monsters who can inflict damage to Prismatic Energy. (Pirate Captain and Crustacean King). In mimosa team side, Only Prismatic energy and Weirding Warrior who can give damage to Djinn Oshannus since he has void ability too.

Round 3

In this round, Djinn Oshannus health point is just 1 left, while the Prismatic Energy still has 5 Health point left. With the Prismatic Energy attack in the next turn, Djinn Oshannus could die, Alric has no tank monster left and we can we the result of the battle.

Round 4

Djinn Oshannus died and since Alric team has no tank monster, Furious chicken and Pirate captain are deed easily. Only Crustacean King left which can not attack since he is a ranged attack - type monster. he could not heal himself either since the ruleset is healed out.

Round 5

Crustacean King died after getting magic attack by Prismatic Energy and Elven Mystic. The match is over. Mimosa team won the match.
