[WE115] Weekend-Engagement concept - The Immortality

Happy weekend guys!
It's weekend again, another period to engage the mind and make creativity realistic. I'm glad to be one of the amazing writers engaging in the #weekend-engagement organized by @galenkp and his team 😍🥰.

Well, if I were immortal, I'll be bored because I'll have to live forever, watch my friends, loved ones and family age and die up to countless generations, since death will be inevitable for them. It's sounds exciting to hear that one could be immortal but I think it's not fun at all, except that I could do something...🥰😍 So, I'm grateful that I'm only given an opportunity to be immortal for a weekend 😂🤣... Just kidding. Read with an open mind as I share what I'll like to do if I were immortal for this weekend.

When I was on a clinical experience in a teaching hospital, an orthopedic ward to be specific, I met a beautiful 21 year old girl, full of ambition, passion and amazing dreams. After establishing a therapeutic relationship with her, she became more expressive and was ready to tell me the details of her condition. She explained that she was on her way to school to write an examination when she had a Road traffic accident. When she fell off from the moving motorcycle, she felt a sudden numbness. She was rushed to the hospital but before then, her upper and lower limbs were paralysed because she sustained a cervical annular tear( a tear at the cervical region of the spine) which affected the Cervical 4 and 5 vertebrae.

She was admitted into an intensive care unit where she spent one month. There, the chat that was used in her assessment for 24 hours cost 18,500 Naira.
During this period, because she maintained a particular position, although there was a change of position, assisted by the nurses, you'll believe with me that it's different from consciously changing position at will. She eventually developed a gluteal ulcer that affected her muscles and bones.

Her condition was quite pathetic, she belong to the low social class. She barely had money to eat good food (balanced diet) that could hasten the healing process of the wound as well as money to purchase due drugs necessary for her recovery. Her parents never planned such incidence and could not spend time with her because they wanted to go back home to hustle for money. The only person that was always with her was her only brother who out of love suspended his work to stay with her in the hospital.
She'll always say; I want to stand up and walk again. Sometimes she'll ask me; Do you think I'll not complete my academic pursuit?, Marry? and have children of my own?. I leave her bed to cry in my closet almost all times I converse with her and I'll wish I can do something to change her situation.

I believe that immortals can also have supernatural powers and psyche. If I were immortal for this weekend, I'll go around all hospitals and:

• Cure people of terminal sicknesses
• Bring to life the dying
• Heal and reverse all life-threatening conditions
• Clear off all the debt that hold people bound in hospitals.

That way, I'll be fulfilled and satisfied as that will be a source of hope to the hopeless.
