Battle Mage Secrets_Fire & Regret Ruleset

Hi There!

I was definitely not going to let the week run out on me without presenting you a part of my battling for the week. It's been a lot of battles fought, some lost while some won but most importantly, we try our best to achieve more wins than losses. For this presentation, a ruleset has been chosen and it happens to be one that does not favor the ranged attack kind of monster. The ruleset in question is known as fire & regret. In the next few hundred words, I will be sharing my knowledge of this ruleset with you but before then, splinterlands needs you that is reading without playing. What the H*LL are you waiting for? Join us at the arena and experience the best form of happiness of your life. I too will love to read your battle strategies. To know how to participate in the weekly battle mage secrets, kindly visit the announcement post for guidelines.

Fire & Regret

The image beside symbolizes the fire & regret ruleset. This ruleset gives every monster on the battlefield the return fire ability which happens to be a threat to ranged attack monsters. How is it a threat? When a ranged monster hits a target with the return fire ability, it gets back a portion of the damage inflicted on the enemy. Due to this returned damage, the ranged attack monsters become not most suitable for use in this ruleset leaving the option of either melee or magic monsters as the better ones. The fact that this ruleset returns fire to ranged monsters does not mean that one can not win the battle using these monsters. It all depends on the quality of the monsters used and how strong they are against a returned fire. Let's dive into discussing some strategies best suited for this ruleset.

Suitable Strategies for Fire & Regret Ruleset

To be on the safer side of the battle, it is better to look the way of melee and magic monsters when faced with the fire & regret ruleset. However, having in mind that this is how most people think, including anti-magic & melee monsters' abilities can help one curb the effect of both monster types. For such a battle, I'd involve abilities such as void, void armor, silence, reflect, and demoralize. These abilities will help keep melee and magic monsters in check by reducing their damage. It is also worth noting that the positioning of one's monsters on the battlefield can help shape the outcome of the battle.

Summoner: DELWYN DRAGONSCALE
Rarity/Element: Common/Dragon
Stat: +1 magic damage✔️✔️

In a battle that's most favorable for magic & melee monsters, I'd choose to go for magic. To explore the full potential of magic monsters, it is best to use a summoner of their kind, Delwyn is one of the summoners with a +1 magic stat and it is the chosen summoner for this particular battle. The mana cap was more than enough so the 5 mana of this monster was not an issue to consider

AGOR LONGTAIL

I did mention earlier that in a battle such as this, void armor ability could be essential. Agor the hybrid attack monster played the leading role for the team. Agor is a monster rich in health, armor, and damage. It doesn't have the double strike ability but it kind of attacks twice using its magic & melee damage. Another great attribute of this monster is the void armor ability which simply means that magic monsters must take down its armor before being able to affect its health. This monster also has the flying ability which increases the chances of missed hits by melee and ranged monsters

FURIOUS CHICKEN

There's nothing much to say about the furious chicken other than it being a bonus monster to teams on the battlefield. The furious chicken was placed directly behind the leading monster before that's the only position that makes sense since the fog of war ruleset is also applicable in the battle. At least if this monster doesn't get to fight, it sure can take off one hit from the main fighting monsters

DJINN OSHANNUS

It appears like I forgot to mention phase as one of the anti-magic abilities. Yeah, here comes another monster with a dual anti-magic ability, the void & phase. Djinn is good at withstanding magic attacks due to its possession of the void ability. Monsters also have a high chance of missing it as a target, a courtesy of phase ability. Aside from being placed backward, Djinn can also make a great defender which lessens the fear of losing even if the lead team monster goes down too early

RIVER HELLONDALE

OSHUUR CONSTANTIA

Hellondale & Constantia, these two monsters are on the battlefield for the same purpose. They both fought with almost the same stat and most especially their resurrection ability was the key to selecting them, although they didn't get to use those since the opponent seemed to have provided a weak team.

MUSA SALINE

Saline the scavenger ability monster occupied the last position. For the inclusion of the fog of war ruleset, Saline's position will see it gain more health before it gets to its turn to be in the front row. This monster and every other monster in her team didn't have to do much since the team they went up against could hard last two rounds of battle.

An easy battle for such a ranked position doesn't come often

That will be all for this week. I hope you enjoyed the read. Please join me next week for another battle mage secrets challenge same place. Leave a comment on how the strategy can be better or any other of your choice.
