Sublime: The Unusual Sounds Of Dry Ice
"Sublime" is the dry ice project of Cleveland percussionist, J Guy Laughlin. He plays the haunting sounds of metal on the ice, which creates some rather unsettling sounds.
A wide variety of objects are used, each having a unique reaction to the dry ice and there are some other playful surprises in the performance.
This was recorded last night, the inauguration show for a new spot in the Waterloo arts building, in Cleveland's Collinwood neighborhood.
Let me know what you think or if you've ever heard anything like this before!
That's one "cool" musical instrument, if you ask me!
