The other day I had the opportunity to visit the contemporary art museum, where I was able to learn about the types of art that exist and its history. It is impressive the amount of ways of expressing art nowadays. This museum not only allows you to give artists the opportunity to be known, it also allows the visitor to have a contact with the art world in a relaxed and genuine way. The museum is located in Belém, Lisbon and has transportation facilities, such as train and buses. You can get guided tours or individual visits.

El otro día tuve la oportunidad de visitar el museo de arte contemporáneo, donde logré aprender los tipos de artes que existen y la historia del mismo. Es impresionante la cantidad de formas de expresar el arte en la actualidad. Este museo no solo permite darle la oportunidad de artistas ser conocidos, también permite al visitante tener un contacto con el mundo del arte de una manera relajada y genuina. El museo está localizado en Belém, Lisboa y cuenta con medios de transporte, como el tren y buses. Puedes obtener visitas guiadas o individual.

One of the first artists that we will recognize and appreciate her art. This is a Belgian artist whose art is expressed through sculptures. This art that the museum shares with us is called 'crossing a burning bridge', it can be a little scary at first impression to see the sculptures, but when you read the concept it makes sense the sculpture. I also learned the different ways in which you can work on sculptures, it can be concrete or animal skin, which goes through a salt treatment previously.

Una de las primeras artistas que reconoceremos y apreciaremos su arte. Se trata de un artista belga que su arte es expresado por esculturas. Este arte que nos comparte el museo de llama 'atravesando un puente en llamas', puede ser algo terrorífico a primera impresión ver las esculturas, pero al leer el concepto tiene sentido la escultura. También aprendí las diferentes formas en las que puedes trabajar en esculturas, puede ser concreto o con piel de animal, en el cual pasa por un tratamiento de sal previamente.

It took me a while to appreciate this type of art and understand it, because this type of art is not usually the favorite of many because it can create confusion or difficulty to understand. I really had no idea what they wanted to tell me with a single object, but when I read a sign explaining this type of art, I managed to understand a little. This art is a movement where the concept stands out more than the work where it is expressed. My favorite work of that place, was a blank painting with another next to it, expressing: 'The art is painted with invisible inks, only the artist can know its real meaning and will carry it in secret.

Me costó un poco lograr apreciar este tipo de arte y entenderlo, porque este tipo de obras no suele ser la favorita de muchos porque puede crear confusiones o dificultad de entender. Realmente no tenía idea muy bien de lo que me querían decir con un solo objeto, pero al leer un letrero explicándonos este tipo de arte, logré entender un poco. Este arte es un movimiento donde el concepto destaca más que la obra donde lo expresa. Mi obra favorita de ese lugar, fue un cuadro en blanco junto con otro al lado, expresando: 'El arte está pintado con tintas invisibles, solo el artista puede saber su real significado y lo llevará en secreto.'

I also managed to enjoy and learn from the area of mixed media art. This type of technique allows artists to express themselves with more than one material in their work. It is often common to use magazine clippings and objects, more than one material, whether it is paper, wood or recycled art.

También logré disfrutar y aprender de la zona del arte con técnica mixta. Este tipo de técnica permite que los artistas se expresen con más de un material en su obra. Suele ser común utilizar recortes de revistas y objetos, más de un solo material, ya sea papel, madera o arte reciclado.

Also in the museum we can find the cinematographic art, and we have an example of the artist Rui Toscano, who made this work inspired by the city of Lisbon. It has some designs of the city and the sound of the background of the city.

The world of art may not be your type of taste, but without a doubt even the person most distant from the art world knows the famous Pablo Picasso, a painter and sculptor admired in the art world for his incredible works of art. This museum surprises you with two works of art by this renowned artist.

Thanks to this visit to the museum I was able to learn a lot about how we can express our inner art and the different types of tools we can have to transmit it. I want to share with you these works that I found in the museum, from handmade sculptures to recycled material. I will also share the works with the abstract technique, using different techniques, including photographs.

Gracias a esta visita en el museo logré aprender mucho sobre cómo podemos expresar nuestro arte interior y los diferentes tipos de herramientas que podemos tener para transmitirlo. Quiero compartirles estas obras que me topé en el museo, desde esculturas a mano hasta con material reciclado. También compartiré las obras con la técnica abstracta plasmada con diferentes técnicas, incluso con fotografías.
