fluffy cat'o'memories from 2007 (15 foto)
Back in November, 2006...
...our family suddenly grew up by one member. And, no, it was not my babygirl yet, this happened a few years later. When we were out, at a tiny local foody store, situated in the basement of a neighbouring building just next to us (max 100 meters) my wife was chosen! A little crazy frightened white kitty momentarily
clung to her coat and nimbly climbed up, nestled on her neck, refusing to go down. At first we thought this was a local cat living in the store, but it turned out it wasnt. The seller in the store told us: "we do not know this kitten, this is not ours, feel free to take it". The kitten (later examination showed that it was only 2 months old) grabbed into her coat with all four paws and flatly refused to disconnect!
So this wild beast appeared in our house, and it was afraid of everyone, hissed and hid. The first shock passed quickly, but the kitty still remained ... uh ... not too affectionate.
But over time - her temper have softened. But it took many years :)
Now she comes onto the knees naturally; moreover, she urgently demands stroking! several times per day. 'Aging in a good way' ;)
At the time an old longhaired siamese red cat was living with us (and, frankly speaking, he was a big retard!) He reacted quite indifferently to the emergence of a rival / competitor for our love. So lazy, what more can I say!
The new arrived kitty bravely explored the new territory and made it her own pretty fast. All of it. Even the ceiling!
She used to play with a rope and a bow ... Now she feels herself far superior above this simple fun!
Already at a young age, she understood well that the main occupation of cats is to lie at any cozy spot and do nothing.
A few pictures featuring our ADSL modem. No 100Mb bandwidth internet connection. Those were the times!..
...and my old NEC 14 inch display.
Sweet memories!
Do you remember? for cats, boots are the wormholes to another dimension!
May 2007. Half a year kitty!
Let me round up my memories from her 1st year of life with this shot from September, 2007 -- she is 10 months age here. A frightened crazy kitten have transformed into a young lady!
This is a post for #saturdaymemories initiative, initiated by a great Hivean @olga.maslievich
Oh, so nice memories. She was a sweet white kitty who apparently loved acrobatics on a chair and walk on a bar above the curtain 🙂
now she's an old lady, still with us -- and definitely less acrobatics :P
I am glad she is still with you 😇

How wonderful to reminisce with pictures.. 😊😺
yes! and I am happy by that time I had a pioneer Canon 350D camera. Sadly, I wasnt a good photographer ack then... totally didnt understand the role of good lighting in capturing of a good image. But I levelled up my skills since that days :P
👍😊
Daww, what a cutie! Happy Caturday to you, too. It's certainly funny how, at times, the cats adopt us, and not the other way around. Good kitty!
What a beauty!
YES. totally. a rare edition!
What a wonderful story! Wonderful pictures.
My daughter rescued two kittens in our neighborhood, both discovered because neighbors called her to rescue the kittens from car engines. She has quite a reputation as an animal rescuer. Both kittens survived, although one, Rosie (two weeks old), was critically ill. My daughter nursed her. Rosie didn't thrive, but had a happy short life (about nine years) and died this summer. Her broken leg never healed. She was too fragile in the beginning to have it amputated. She got along fine and used that limb, in her fashion, to get around.
Rosie
I refuse to understand the folks, who spend a month of fun with the little cute kittens and after they mature into the cat youth teenagers stage (up to 2 months) kick them off into the street life. bastards.
it was fucking November! throw your little kid at the wintertime street to start living their lives..
ofc our lady was ill, too. living a week or two in the fucking cold street, she froze her tender childish body, and a veterinarian examination showed that she had "pyelonephritis" ... chronic, for the rest of her life. and from about 1-2 years old, our cat has been living on medicated medicated dry food - because of that fucking week she spent outside early in her life. Thats the way it goes...
I think these kittens may have been the offspring of so-called 'ferals'. The mothers may have sought refuge in the car engines, which are warm, and then the kittens got trapped. Rosie apparently was in the engine as the car rode around. The owner of the car reported hearing meowing as she drove! Why she couldn't help the cat herself, I'll never understand.
in theory, yes. practically, not sure of that, not in this case.
If the mother had kittens, she would not abandon them, but rather stayed with them, I guess, would find a secret hiding place for them in a warm basement, etc... most likely ... the stories about cats hiding in a warm car engine (and little yet silly kittens doing the same) and being trapped are familiar to me, although I'm not a car owner myself!

well, its more than 'hobby' - its A PASSION
cheers! and Happy Caturday, again!
How true it is that often times the pet choses us not the other way around and the same pets become the ones most dear to our hearts! ♡
yes, not sure if it is 100% true, but theres a lot of truth in it. really a lot. thats why our story is happy, even though it had a lot of difficulties later (mostly health issues). during that 1 or 2 weeks spent at the street in the cold, she treated her health, and later started suffering from pielonephrites. I curse the householders who throw away 1-2 month grown kitten toddlers onto the winter frozen streets! hope they burn in hell.. - !ENGAGE 20
Happy Caturday, Nina!
Ultimately what matters is the love your little kitty knows daily after the horrific experience she lived through early in her life. It's a shame there are monsters living amongst us. I judge people by the way they treat animals and I agree -- there is a special place in Hell for those who hurt innocent, helpless animals and children who cannot defend themselves...
Thank you for the ENGAGE gifts👍

tokens. What a wonderful story. I see she was quite a active kitty.
My cat used to clime up on the curtain rods too!
yes! and she still is. in the summer, at our village place, sometimes she has 'a playful mood' and love to rush onto a tree to the hight of 2 -2,5 metres in just 2-3seconds! sadly it do not last long and every time all of a sudden! I wanted to make a video, but was unable to do it :))
Happy Caturday!!
@qwerrie - I am normally not a cat person but finally admitted that I am falling in love with them. Now I have almost 25 cats living with me. Those of them are stray cats that the owner left/discard/dump them. Cats are integral parts of me and companions like none other. They are a source of entertainment, emotional support, and have individual personalities.
Your little white kitten is so cute and adorable.
