Hi! I think according to wiki, they are one and the same, no?

What are the lamps on the street called?

A street light, light pole, lamppost, street lamp, light standard, or lamp standard is a raised source of light on the edge of a road or path.

Anyway, congrats for being mentioned :)

I hardly can tell you, as I am not a native speaker.

when (a while ago) there was a keyword with a lamp post, it was a lamp post ;)

Oh, I see :D Here in our country we don't call it lamp post but rather street light :D Not a native myself that's why I can relate for it's confusing sometimes :D

Right, but I consider the largest meaning of "streetlight" (a vocabulary said as example "a light in or at the side of a road or public area that is usually supported on a tall post"). So, considering that in the past the lampposts are the most common type of lights in the street, I think the photo is a good representation of the two key-subjects. I'm sorry, I know it may not be a perfect choice, I hope it doesn't cause too much criticism :( !BEER

For the sake of discussion, I don't think lampposts are the issue, but I thought streetlights should have lights and if lampposts are used, there should be light emitting from the lamppost. 😄

Just my two cents. 😁😁😁
