Today is the last day of May, one of my fave months have came to its finish. Well, I did not waste it in terms of both photography and walks. I invested my time and have got a good harvest, tho of course it could be better. But I cant sweep off the table my job duties, after all, haha!

May is the month of blossom, the month when in a week or so everything changes totally -- from naked trees to 'all the world is green'. Tulips, lilacs, May lilly, sakura, apple trees - this year I managed to catch something from this list through the viewfinder.

And of course, I see a lot of stray cats on the streets again. I miss them so much thru all the harsh wintertime. Some districts of the city are extremely kitty-plentiful, while some are pretty poor for this stuff. It is rather difficult to encounter a cat at the central streets - there is a good chance to encounter here street musicians and artists! After all, St.Petersburg still is the cultural capitol of Russia.

A sudden encounter with a horse at the street is always a little adventure for me, a touch to the past times, when the streets belonged not to cars and cyclists, but to horses and carriages.

Homemade clay whistles, and their seller below. It's a cool little memento, a memento of folk crafts and a past when there were no 'Made in China' toys... there weren't any at all, and there were no local stores - if you wanted to provide a child with a toy to play with, you had to make herself! Carve from wood, sculpt from clay, sew from cloth...

By the way, such sellers do not like to be photographed (they are afraid of accusations of illegal commerce... of course, they do not pay any taxes on their trade turnover. Do you also think that they owe money to the state, and not vice versa?...) This time I was lucky -- the young lady was distracted at her smartphone, and I took advantage of it, just one blind take :)

And the last one for today. Curious encounter happened when I was passing exactly the parade entrance of the State Russian Museum -- looks quite pompous, with all these columns and huge doors in three human heights...

...and this was the reason why this spot was chosen for the photoshoot by the owner of two wonderful Afghan hounds and the photographer hired to make their front portrait ... against this refined classic background, without any extra impurities. And I happened to be passing by, exactly in the right time - and managed to take some funny shots. I love coincidences like this so much! This is probably a solid part of the #WednesdayWalk challenge - to compare what people will see in different parts of the world walking at more or less same time.
