wednesday walk around my house, watching for shadows

Yes, the name says it all: I decided to combine two challenges today. Hunting for shadows with @melinda010100, and #wednesdaywalk with @tattoodjay. The walk was not long, I nailed everything at my hands distance ;)

So... It was a mild evening of a warm sunny day. A golden hour that makes everything look better than it is, creating pure magic at the plain spot.

Right in front of the door to our house we have a hands-washing gadget hanging off a birch stump, and a pair of towels always are drying up on a rope. So when I went out onto the porch, the first thing I saw was two towels ... and a shadow from the rowan leaves on them.

This plain sight seemed so cool to me, that I stepped back home and returned with the camera to capture it.

Having the camera in my hands, and this magic light all around, and having captured just three frames, how could I stop? Of couse I didnt. I walked around the house and found another shadow -- more precisely, I created it myself. You see, we burned a bonfire for 4 hours that evening, so I was taking a lot of firewood, and eventually in a very far and dusty corner I found a fork! Which didnt look so usual...

and since the fork is not just a fork... but THE FORK! my photographer' instinct have clicked again. I thought I should take some photos... just for a possible need in the future. You never know what will come in handy, right?.. And the fork's shadow was included in the kit very naturally.

I liked the result so much that I decided to repeat it with scissors (I found an old rusty scissors a couple of days before, helping my neighbor on his site). I love old things, a lot of them are more perfect than today's analogues... as they were crafted in the pre-industrialization epoch, when people were investing more love into their labour.

Ok, thats all! All images were captured within 7-8 meters distance. It was a really short walk, nevertheless it brought in some nice results I am quite happy about! Home you like it too.

A wonderful walk among the Shadows! I love the leaf shadows on the hand towels. I certainly hope that you saved one photo back to enter into The Shadowhunters community for this week's contest! These are all great Shadows.
