Going Up With Hive

Hive is pumping up again— inviting more contributors and putting seniors into the challenge to handle the swarm of newcomers. So, how are they doing it?

I am with this ecosystem for more than 1 year. Quite irregular and still don't know every bit of it. However, that's not the case here.

Recently, I visited Discord's BDCommunity channel to take a look at the old faces of Hive. But, the number of newcomers has successfully surpassed them, almost making the prior one the dominant group. While some are showing their competence in this ecosystem, some are still struggling. And there is this group, trying to grasp it all— switching between Steem and Hive whichever comes in handy. Evidently, conflict is arising.

I remember the time when Steem was a superior medium in terms of monetary value. Even though the difference was not so prominent, still, difference by just 1 value can add up to thousands when the volume increases. Many Hiveians thought they made a mistake not sticking to Steem. But, you know, things have their ups and downs. And they are most probably patting their back now for the bravery they showed by not going back to Steem and showing loyalty to Hive.

But what about the newcomers?

It's been months since I visited the tribe. So, the exploring time was usually longer than expected and there are thousands of messages to go through. But that's not possible, we all know that; reading all the messages that piled up in these months. While skimming, my eyes got stuck on several conversations with the legends of BDCommunity. A few seconds invested, I understood some of them are using both Steem and Hive and complaining about not being able to harvest the reward this community allocates for the dedicated contributors. Some are requesting to get permission and seem to be desperate.

But, discipline comes first. And the seniors are strict about it, no active Steem users are allowed to here. Either they abandon Steem or go back there, that's up to them. But they won't get what's legitimately for Hiveians. However, there are some promising souls I noticed. Some are interacting with the content as they care for it. And in some cases, the interaction seems to be more in-depth and explanatory than the originals. If this continues and they get inspiration, I believe it will be a hub for quality writers and content creators.

But this led me into thinking— is it just for the pumping or BDCommunity has created the hype successfully? Both, maybe.

Actually, this pumping is inviting many users on a regular basis. And I was shocked to see more novice faces than the experts. Not just it's on the BDCommunity's Hive network, but the Discord channel is not as alive as it used to be just a few months back.

Less fun and more price queries.

Did you guys move on to another place that I have missed or too busy collecting the bounty?
