Ice Age: Very Primitive

The Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild— if I were to put it in the right direction; cause the other movies of the series are pretty decent and quite fun-filled. But what happened to the last one?

Yikes!

People on Hive cannot deny that they know a thing or two about Milking; a strategic but loathsome way of harnessing the reward pool that results in BIG DV if detected, otherwise, the creators got away with the reward. But it has consequences, today or tomorrow.

The movie is not up to the bar even after being a Disney-made, earning curses from millions of fans, and to some, Disney is becoming synonymous with cheap art. While other animation specialists like Pixar are striving for the moon, Disney is— well, milking its fans with cheap-quality movies.

I am sure fans who have watched all of the parts of this series will say the same. But for those, who are the first-timer, may find Buck adventurous enough to give it a 5-star rating, which, honestly, is not deserved in this case. At least no 5-star for a movie that is milking their loyal fans with underwhelming characters, voiceovers, and especially, PRIMITIVE stories. Like every milking process has its consequences, it’s no wonder why Buck’s Adventure is getting tons of low ratings.

In my perspective, a movie becomes more interesting with the villain being creative enough. But look at this one— a not-so-dinosaur-like-creature is ruling the wild with a big but useless brain behind the shield. And when it comes to the fighting, his beak-like nails flash fire and that’s it?

How pathetic!

Again, the once-so-feared gigantic Tyrannosaurus is feared of that ugly villain?

Although the counterpart of Buck promises something in the beginning, the essence doesn’t move to the next scene and becomes boring even with her flexibility. Probably the production team was rushed to end this for a quick release or there is something else? I believe Disney has the potential to do blockbusters, and they did in the past with enormous success. So, there has to be something else than the negligence of the team as a whole. Otherwise, the trees would be more vibrant and detailed at least.

The scenes are deemed artificial (it is though), the characters lack movements— precise movements, they don’t do wonder like the past chapters, the dialogues are not enthralling enough, and the whole thing is more of static frames stacked one after another to forcefully add life to the story— very juvenile. And the sudden change of all voice artists, that do not fit the context and lack energy is a horrible decision, I assume.

Overall, I am disappointed but not lost in despair. I will surely watch the next chapter (if it brings any) to see if Disney has changed its mind. Till then, long live The Ice Age.
