Till Death We Ride

avatar

I’ve been riding since my childhood. As far as I can remember, it started back in my elementary school period but on a bicycle. Still, it’s a ride, right?

Then it came to riding a motorbike, that too at a very young age— right when I was a 6th grader. It’s a dream that came true although I dared not to speak my mind to my father, yet, he willingly asked me to sit in the front on a beautiful morning on a Friday. Till then, the revving continues— on different bikes, at different speeds. And I have pushed my bike to its limit, achieving a fair deal of top speed but my thirst for a higher kmph is yet to be satiated.

I know “speed thrills but kills” — meh, who cares! Not that I don’t fear death but if it happens on the road for some crazy riding, I guess it won’t bother me much as I clearly know with death, it all ends. So, people saying what might happen to your family— nah, this doesn’t concern me.

Life flows in its own way, they will find other means to survive regardless of the situation and forget about me— at least, when they die. It’s all about memories, right?

Whatever— riding has always satiated my mind when in distress or say, on the opposite. Coming in next is a good dish. Spending my time alone also counts but it depends on the context. The wind crawling through my skin gives a kick to my senses, making them aware of the surroundings leaving behind. The roaring of the engine under the belly excites my ear as my hand moans in pleasure every time I rotate the throttle.

Long gone.

Last time I had the privilege to ride a bike was a total adventure to me as I explored through unknown territory relying on Google Maps. Unfortunately, its database is yet to be top-notch in many third-world countries like ours. So, I had my fair share of hassle cruising through the countryside but yeah, I managed to reach my destination somehow. That’s an achievement I must say.

After riding for the last time back in the country, I looked at it. And thought what if I don’t get further opportunity to saddle in? The heart inside groaned with pain that nobody knows. The last time I put my helmet off is the time I knew Freedom has come to an end— freedom of happiness, freedom of living my life with the wind, with the emotion.

Many days have passed and I have encountered so many bikes around— Harley, KTM, Honda, and many others. A good number of sports cars as well; Lambo, BMW, Porsche, Supra and a few everyday cars turned into powerhouses— with all those turbo intakes, they roar like maniacs. Everytime I hear the loud noise approaching fast, I stretch my vision towards the busy roads in a hope to feast my eyes on their beauty.

But nothing compares to the bondings I created with machines back in the home; for that I know how they feel to be on top, how they respond, how they twerk if revved hard or land on a pothole. I don’t know when I will be able to ride one, not seeing any opportunity soon. Till then, you may rest my mighty crown.

I thought I am going to see something about them.

Well, you can tell the differences between Harley and other bikes just by listening to the exhaust notes; Harleys are too loud and sound like tractor to me. Not so interesting. But in any biker gang, they are the majority. Other brands are mostly for speed run and they vanish before you locate them lol.
In-depth highlights aren't possible at this moment as I am far from getting one. Perhaps in a distant future. But living among these beasts is equally interesting.

Hello my friend :D

I'd say what a pity Google maps works. I quite enjoy getting lost. Still! I rarely take my phone out with me.

We never had this tech when I was a lass you know. (I can see my son rolling his eyes at me in my mind's eye 😆)

But when we left home that was it. Nobody knew where we were. Freedom!

I had a scooter as a teen. Loved it. And bikes. But I don't like speed. I cruise.

Love your share here. I get it! I hope you get hold of another bike soon and that you never lose your lack of fear and wild nature. Stay you 💛

Hey hey Nick!

Yeah, I like to get lost every now and then but you surely don't get lost when it's 42 degrees outside and the time is very limited before you are to get back. We didn't have google maps either back in our teens, and getting lost was too common in many afternoons with friends. Those days were one of a kind, if I am not mistaken.
Good to see you back friend 🍻

Well no. That's not a good idea at all! :)

I'm always around. I just take breaks from creating to build up steam again and have been tired after these last adventures.

While I wait, I wander around reading and enjoying else's stuff. And I've been working as well again so... less time right now.

But I'm here :D Back left.

Hope you get yourself together soon and with all the energies accumulated, share what about your adventures. Probably I will get busier soon and if it's not draining my energy enough, I will be around as usual, otherwise, I may have to wander and ghost you hahaha. Take love.

Don't you dare! I'll hunt you down and find you!

Still moving too slowly for my liking here but still fucking tired. It's very frustrating.

But I'm also learning because it's something new for me. This pace. So it's also quite interesting.

Feeling a bit better but have paying work so have to do that and rest in between. Sucks but it is what it is for now. I can't burn the midnight oil right now and loadshedding still reduces possible hours to be productive so on I go at half mast...

For now.

I did manage to do a bit of creative stuff in between :D

It'll be up soon.

We stay connected. That is all.

I'll take that love with much gratitude and send some back.

Awesome human. ❤️💥

Really? Hunt me down?!
I'd love to say "catch me if you can" but no, it feels overwhelming to know I have someone over there who cares this much, thank you dear friend.

But we all have issues to attain and my schedules are keeping me busier these days. Although I intend to maintain a decent presence here, sometimes they are out of my hand.

The thing is, we will be in touch, everyday or periodically. Stay blessed, stay happy. Cheers!

I hear you! I think many of us are in the same boat and we will keep coming back. Of course.

And yes! We will stay connected. Kindred spirits do.

No pressure. :)

owning a bike on your side of the world might be pretty expensive. May Allah grant you to have that privilege!

I know sister, but there's no limit to dreaming and i am willing to go beyond to attain this particular dream. Someday, perhaps, InshaAllah. Thanks for your wishes ❤️
