Love Becomes Disaster

People say love is beautiful, people say love is an energy that can generate motivation in life, and people say love makes our lives more colourful. However, many people do not realize that there is another side to love, namely hatred and also disaster.

This is what happened to Tono, a teenager from Sukamulya village, Probolinggo district. Tono is known as a kind, friendly, and helpful boy. At school, Tono was a smart and diligent student. Tono is the only high school student in Sukamulya village who can get first place in Science at the international level.

When after Tono graduated from high school, he got a scholarship to study at the University of Jakarta. In addition to getting free education from the government, Tono also got a living facility borne by the government. Starting from residence, food, and clothing. How lucky Tono is.

While at the university, Tono was also the most genius student among his friends. It can be said that Tono is an extraordinary student because the university where Tono gains knowledge is known as a nest of prospective professors. University of Jakarta graduates will usually work in the number one world company, such as NASA, Google, and SpaceX.

One of Tono's college friends named Ani often asked Tono for help to teach several lecture lessons. Not only in the university area, but Tono also often met Ani in other public places to teach knowledge to Ani. Because they often meet, the seeds of love appear in Tono's heart, as well as Ani's. In this Javanese term, it is called "Witing Tresno Jalaran Soko Kulino" which means, "Love comes because accustomed".

On Saturday morning, when there were no class hours on campus, Ani's cell phone rang. That is a WhatsApp notification from Tono. The contents of the message were Tono's invitation to Ani to meet in a flower garden which is located not far from the University of Jakarta this afternoon. Ani approved Tono's invitation and they met that afternoon. In the flower garden, Tono gave a rose to Ani while saying, "Ani, I love you, will you be my lover?".

Ani smiled shyly, took a rose that Tono was holding, and nodded her head in agreement. Of course, Ani accepted it, because Ani also liked Tono for a long time. Until finally, they both officially bear the status of "Dating". Tono is very happy because he has Ani as his girlfriend. Their days are always fun and happy.

Two months have passed, and Ani, who is still a student, has to find a part-time job to support her family's economy. Incidentally, Ani was accepted to work as a waiter at a fast food restaurant. So, after coming home from college, Ani had to go to work to earn extra income.

Tono began to rarely meet with Ani because currently, Ani is an employee. Only during work holidays can they meet outside. What else can we do? Tono also understood Ani's current state. On Sunday, when Ani was off at work, Tono invited his girlfriend to the beach to enjoy the beauty of nature and sunset together. Ani was very happy because Tono would take her away when she was on work off.

However, when on the beach, Tono was annoyed with Ani. Because from earlier Ani's face just stared at the cellphone screen. Ani said that the restaurant manager asked about the work on WhatsApp. Although annoyed, Tono was not angry at Ani, he took a deep breath and took it slowly so that he could calm down.

Because it's often like that, Tono, who is annoyed, hacks into Ani's cellphone. With science and technology mastered by Tono, Ani did not realize that her cell phone could be accessed by Tono. Tono, who opened the contents of Ani's conversation on WhatsApp, made him even more annoyed. Tono was crying in his heart, his chest felt tight because of the mental wounds from reading Ani's entire WhatsApp conversation.

Even though Tono is very good at science, when it comes to emotions and love, his heart is so fragile and weak. Tono loves Ani so much, that Tono gets jealous when other men call or chat with Ani. Since then, Tono's attitude has changed. Tono never again took Ani out when he was off work. Even on campus, Tono was mostly quiet when he was with Ani.

Seeing the change in Tono's attitude towards Ani, the girl became annoyed.

"Why are you different now? You're not like the Tono I know," said Ani, "What's wrong with you Tono?" asked Ani.

Tono just kept quiet and didn't say a word, even Tono's gaze didn't turn to Ani. The girl was getting annoyed because she didn't answer her question, Ani cried in front of Tono. Actually, Tono wanted to tell him, but he couldn't speak. Tono is really bad at this.

Tono went to the canteen leaving Ani who was crying alone. Actually, Tono was also sad to see Ani crying, but Tono did not know what to do. In the canteen, Tono ordered a glass of juice and then opened the laptop. Curiosity came back to Tono so he hacked the contents of Ani's Whatsapp conversation.

At that time Ani was chatting with a man who worked in a fast food restaurant. He is not Ani's affair. They only make friends because they work in the same place, but too much love causes excessive jealousy in Tono's heart. In the contents of the WhatsApp chat, Ani tells the sadness she experienced today. What made Tono upset was a reply from Ani's chatter who said "maybe Tono cheated".

The words in the chat content made Tono angry, the more chats chatted, Tono's chest tightened even more. Tono's mind was badly hurt, even the juice he had just ordered was not appetizing. Tono's fate is really unfortunate. Until the content of the last chat, the two of them will meet at a place that has been promised.

Tono's inner wound was getting worse, it crossed his mind to end his life. But Tono also promised to make his parents happy in the village. This is the biggest dilemma Tono has ever experienced. His heart was more and more shrouded in darkness, and his way of thinking grew narrower.

Tono borrowed his classmate named Ari, Tono said that he wanted to borrow a car to go to the museum. But it is not. Tono will go to Ani's place and her friend's to meet. There, Tono stepped on the gas pedal very quickly and hit the two of them.

Ani and her friend died, and then Tono was jailed. He was expelled from the university and his name was blacklisted by other universities. Even all scholarships and living facilities have been revoked. Tono could no longer continue his goals, let alone make his parents happy. Love is a disaster for Tono.
