Ink Well Prompt #74 - The Forbidden Book of the Sanctum Regnum

Wednesday night, 8:00 pm. Narto looked down and couldn't stop crying. The 45-year-old was devastated by the loss of his 23-year-old son. Because this morning, his son, Joko, was going on a bus on vacation. However, the bus that Joko was travelling in had an accident and claimed his life.

Throughout the day Narto was constantly lethargic, had no appetite, and his body was getting thinner. He could not tolerate his only child. Until finally he who had a dark heart decided to use the forbidden book left by his father, namely "Sanctum Regnum".

Back then, when was young. Narto learned magic from his father. Narto's father, Wirjo, is very famous for his black magic. With Wirjo's black magic power, the people in his village often seek treatment and are healed by the powerful Wirjo.

When Narto was 15 years old, Wirjo taught his son about the magic and healing of black magic. Before Wirjo died, he advised his son Narto to guard the forbidden book called the Sanctum Regnum. Because the book has a very strong magical power and not just anyone should study it. Wirjo is worried that this power will be misused by bad people.

Narto whose heart has been shrouded by darkness wants his son back. He opened the forbidden book. He studied everything that was there. Until finally he found the Edo Tensei spell, which is to summon the souls of the dead and place them in the bodies of the living. But this Edo Tensei move has to sacrifice someone's life as a sacrifice.

Narto read it and studied it. After that, he was looking for someone who would become the victim of Edo Tensei. Incidentally, Narto owns a bakery. So there's a 20-year-old guy who's about to apply for a job at Narto's bakery. The man's name is Katno.

When Katno comes to the bakery to apply for a job, Narto tells her to come into his room. There Katno is welcome to drink a glass of water. After drinking, Katno fell asleep. Narto deliberately gave sleeping pills so that Katno would not rebel when tied up. Katno's sleeping body was placed on the floor, and the ritual began immediately.

"Father!!" Narto was surprised to see his father's arrival. He did not expect that his father's spirit would come.

"You can't do this, son," said Wirjo. "I told you to keep the forbidden book from being misused by others, but why did you do that?" asked Wirjo.

"I'm sorry father, I can't accept Joko's departure," replied Narto.

"You must be able to accept destiny, the death of your child has become God's will. You must believe that God gave this destiny for your good," said Wirjo advising.

Wirjo also continued his advice to his son "remember, Joko has found calm and peace in a long break. Don't bother him if you love your child"

"Okay dad, I'm sorry," said Narto.

Wirjo left with the smoke and disappeared. Narto was silent. Closing the forbidden book and opening the rope that bound Katno's body. Waiting for Katno to wake up in her sleep. Katno was surprised and confused, why did he fall asleep on the floor? Seeing Narto who was sitting on the chair, Narto immediately got up.

"Sorry sir, I accidentally fell asleep in your room. I'm sorry," said Katno.

"It's okay, maybe you are tired. I accept your work here. Work well" said Narto.

"Okay sir, thank you," said Katno.

Since then, Narto began to often carry out religious activities and listen to the cleric's lectures so that he could forgive his son's departure. He also adopted a cat to cheer herself up when he was feeling lonely.
