On Thursday morning in Sukaria Village, at Bhayangkara High School class 2 to be precise. The students at that high school were very happy and cheered because there was good news for them. The good news is, they will be going to Switzerland for a study tour which is being held on Saturday. They will visit a Museum and also the Aare river to learn things outside their country.

"Okay, prepare yourselves and don't be late," said Mr Kohar, their history teacher.

Saturday morning has arrived, the sun is so warm pouring its light on the village of Sukaria. Basuki and his friend Purwanto rushed to their school so they wouldn't be late. They have already prepared the goods to be brought to Switzerland. At 08.00 they arrived there in great spirits.

The bus drove to the airport and arrived at 10.00 am. The students gather at the airport and the teacher arranges a study tour for their students. Mr Budi, one of the sports teachers, also took care of the students. He also directed the students not to run around here and there.

"Okay kids, make two rows and count one by one," said Mr Budi. "Count from the right," said Mr Budi.

The students started counting. They numbered 35 people. After that, they started boarding the plane with the other passengers. The plane took off into the high clouds. Basuki and Purwanto first boarded the plane. They were both so afraid of heights, so they just prayed the whole way.

Arriving at the Swiss airport, Mr Budi told his students to stay lined up neatly so that no one student was scattered. They gathered in front of the airport and were greeted by Mr John as their guide. Mr John took them all to a bus to get to the inn.

"Well, kids. Keep lined up neatly and don't push the others" said Mr John.

When all the things were at the inn, they returned to the bus to go to the museum which was not far from the inn. There the students were invited to sing together to make the trip more enjoyable.

After arriving at the museum, the guide gave many directions to the students. All students listened to the guide's directions except for Basuki and Purwanto. They were both naughty students and didn't want to listen to the teachers' advice. While in the fossil room, you can see the mammoth bones that have been arranged.

Basuki and Purwanto hanging from the ivory fossil. Even though the guide had said not to touch anything in the museum. As a result, the mammoth fossil immediately collapsed and fell on both of them. Basuki's head looked lumpy and Mr Kohar scolded them.

"You guys are always causing trouble," said Mr Kohar. "You can't eat lunch," continued Mr Kohar, punishing them both. After going to the museum, the students were taken to the Aare river to study the natural surroundings. At that time the Aare river was high and the river current seemed so swift.

"Remember, you must not approach the river because it is very dangerous," said the guide.

All the students listened, but the two bad boys still wouldn't listen. In Sukaria village, Purwanto and Basuki often bathe in the river. They thought they could conquer the Aare river. When all the students were studying the environment, Mr Budi's stomach felt queasy and he wanted to defecate.

When Mr Budi was in the toilet, it was Basuki and Purwanto's chance to swim in the Aare river. No one knew they were swimming in the river. Suddenly Basuki's legs felt cramped and he couldn't move. Purwanto immediately swam towards Basuki to be saved.

The strong current made Purwanto run out of energy. Rini, the female student knew about this and told their guide. The guide was surprised to see Purwanto who was having trouble helping Basuki in the middle of a fast river current. Rini ran to the toilet to tell this Mr Budi.

"Mr Budi, hurry up, help Basuki and Purwanto" Rini shouted from outside the toilet. "They drifted in the river," continued Rini.

Immediately Mr Budi put on his pants and ran towards the river. "Please flush my shit," said Mr Budi told Rini.

Mr Budi the sports teacher immediately jumped into the river and saved his student. But what Mr Budi saw was only Purwanto. Basuki had been released by Purwanto's grip so that his friend was not saved. The guide called 911 for help. Mr Budi did not give up, he jumped back into the river to look for his student.

Finally, Basuki was declared missing in the Aare river and was found after three days in the dam. This incident became a trending topic on social media. Basuki, the son of the village head, was buried in Sukaria village next to the Bhayangkara High School.

Obedience they say is better than sacrifice. If only Basuki had listened to his guide he may have lived.

What a tragic story. It illustrates that some people are so impulsive and defiant that they can even pay the ultimate sacrifice, as a result.

This story has a strong moral. Sadly, it is lost on the person who made a poor choice and did not live to learn the lesson!
