Estos niños tienen un nivel de altísima calidad, se paran en el plato con seguridad y conocedores de lo que están haciendo, son capaces de lanzar curvas, rectas que alcanzan las 75 millas por hora con tan solo 12 años no abandonan el juego aunque se enfrenten a niños más grandes, tienen disciplina, habilidad y precisión impresionantes. Una vez termina el campeonato, los niños regresan a sus hogares con una nueva experiencia, pero con el objetivo de seguir los estudios y buscar una beca universitaria, quizás en ese andar algunos sigan con el sueño de llegar a las grandes ligas, pero saben que no es fácil y sus padres también es más rápido graduarse en cualquier profesión que de jugador profesional.

En estos momentos se juega la preclasificación para este campeonato y debo decir con orgullo que Venezuela gano la representación de Latinoamérica para el evento en la categoría sub 12. Cabe destacar que Venezuela ha sido campeón en dos oportunidades 1994 y 2000 con equipos del estado Zulia en buena hora para los hermanos maracuchos. Algunos grandes ligas que participaron en la serie mundial de pequeñas ligas: Yusmeiro Petti, Wilson Álvarez y Pablo Sandoval. Esperemos que Venezuela nos pueda traer por tercera vez, es campeonato.
