Life In School Then And Now.

The educational sector in the world and in my country has taken a turn and things are no more like it used to be. Well, it’s a normal thing because the world is dynamic and the change should not just take effect in a few things but every aspect of human life. I wouldn’t like to say that things have gotten worse but it is looking like it.

If there is one thing I would love to talk about that was good about being a student then is the fact that there was discipline.

Discipline

Discipline was being portrayed in the lives of students then than now. If a child is not disciplined, schools will make sure that you learn to be disciplined whether forcefully or not. Then, a child who knows that he or she is late will never catwalk to school. That’s when you’d see a child running very fast to school even though he knows that he will still get busy. This kind of discipline will help the child to be an early bird and that is why we see that people who were taught based on the old educational style tend to be able to keep to time or get to wherever they are going on time.

A child who has not done his homework then will not even dare to play when he gets to school in the morning. The first thing he will do is try to do his homework so he won’t het beaten especially when it is your mathematics homework. A child won’t even dare not to do his homework because he knows he will get the beating of his life. This will help a child to be dedicated or put important things in his mind. Such a child won’t take things with levity but unfortunately, those good acts are dying in today’s world.

Less freedom of speech

We’re now in the world that kids can talk to their teachers and they will be heard but back then, it was not like that. A teacher or even a parent will tell you that what he knows or says is final and so be it. This made a lot of kids to be crazily scared of elders then and even though an elderly person has done something very bad to them, they dare not complain or even try to prove a point.
It is really bad and it affected a lot of people. Imagine an elderly person lying against you in your presense but you dare not talk back or prove a point. It may land you in trouble so that’s not really nice.

Lastly, the major thing that was bad about the old educational system but it seem to be accepted now is…

Indiscipline

Indiscipline was never tolerated back then even though it is at its lowest. There are rules and regulations that you need to adhere strictly to. You mustn’t go to school late, you must do your homework, don’t talk back at your teachers and so much more but now, things have changed. These acts are being portrayed by pupils daily and we are embracing it. It is not fair. I work in a school and I know what I’m saying.

Kids can now do anyhow, say what they like without being scared of beating or punishment. It’s crazy how their parents will get angry over any little spanking so who are you to spank them?

I just feel the whole of these needs to change and change for good. The act of indiscipline is not helping but ruining us. I hope we take a look into this and make a change.
