Rajma Chawal with Zeera Rice

I hope you are all doing well. Today I am sharing a simple and tasty Rajma Chawal recipe that I made for my family. Rajma Chawal is one of those meals that is comforting, filling, and perfect for any day of the week. The soft rajma cooked in flavorful spices tastes amazing with simple zeera rice. My family really enjoyed this meal, so I thought I would share the recipe with all of you.
Ingredients
For Rajma
½ kg rajma (red kidney beans)
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 onion, sliced
1 whole garlic bulb, crushed
Green chilies as required
Oil as needed
Salt to taste
Mixed spice powder
Achar Gosht Masala
Turmeric powder


For Zeera Rice
Rice
Water
Oil
Salt
Cumin seeds (zeera)
Method
The night before cooking, wash the rajma and soak it in water. The next day, boil it for about one hour or until the beans become soft.


Now heat some oil in a pot. Add the sliced onion and fry it until it becomes golden brown. Then add the crushed garlic and cook it for a few minutes. After that, add the green chilies.





Next, add the tomato paste and cook it well until the oil starts to separate. This step gives the curry a rich taste and beautiful color.
Now add salt, turmeric powder, mixed spice powder, and Achar Gosht Masala. Mix everything well and let the spices cook for a few minutes.




Add the boiled rajma to the masala and stir well so that all the beans are coated with the spices. Let it cook for another 10 minutes on low heat. This helps all the flavors come together and makes the curry even more delicious.



Making the Zeera Rice
Wash the rice well and soak it for a while. Then place the rice in a pot and add water. Add salt, oil, and cumin seeds. Cook the rice until all the water is absorbed and the rice becomes soft and fluffy.





Ready to Serve
Serve the hot rajma with freshly cooked zeera rice. This is a simple meal, but it is full of flavor and always enjoyed by the whole family. The combination of soft beans, aromatic spices, and light zeera rice makes it a perfect comfort food.
