Autumn afternoon

Hi, everyone! I hope you're all feeling very well.

It's a pleasure for me to show you a little bit of my art through this impressive platform, which gives us all the opportunity to express ourselves in the best way possible, each one showing all the potential according to their talent, which I think is impressive to see and be part of.

I know I'm just getting started, however, here I share with you this illustration I did recently of this incredible, nostalgic and romantic autumn landscape (that's how I see it, honestly) which are my favorites ever since because they give me a feeling of peace and tranquility, and that's why I like them so much. In fact, at the exact moment that I saw the photograph I simply couldn't stop making my drawing of it.

I also have to say that all my illustrations are done with colored pencils, also with some markers for some details I want to highlight and paintings only for more complex backgrounds.

I really hope you like my illustration, soon you will be able to see more of my art.

The Making Process

  • To begin with, since I have drawn in pencil where the trees will go, the fence, the road and all the details that make up my drawing, I start to color it in a very soft way to create a kind of base first in which I will continue working.
  • In the second picture you can see how I'm little by little intensifying the color, something I love to do since I was a kid when I started drawing. In my illustrations the color will always be intense so that it stands out a lot and is the protagonist. Once I've advanced with that, I start to work in more detail on the base color of what will be the leaves, using mainly the warm tones that are characteristic of autumn; also applying a little green in some places where it's necessary for it to stand out like in the original photo.

  • In the third image, I worked much harder on the trees, especially on starting to draw the little leaves, always with the purpose of giving the optical illusion that some are close and others a little further away. To do this I used markers in different shades of red and green, with tips of different thickness, this is to have control and be more accurate when drawing such small details (as you can see in the images). I also worked on the small trees that are up to the bottom, I gave them darkness in some areas to make the farthest part of the landscape.

  • To finish, I focused much more on giving color to the way, light and shadow effects in some parts, and also the detail of the fallen leaves to complete that part. Also (as you can see in the last image) I kept working more on the trees in the distance, intensifying the reddish color; also as you can see I added a little more black to the fence and details where the grass is, and now my illustration is finished.
