In the Havana municipality of Regla in the town of Casablanca, adjacent to the road to El Cristo, there is a site that is part of the historical museum complex of La Cabaña, with great value and significance because it is one of the places where one of the great historical figures of Latin America lived: Ché.

The Casa del Ché (House of Ché) is a cultural center visited daily by numerous tourists and local residents in Havana. This space was originally a house built in the 1940s to house the military chief of the San Carlos de La Cabaña Military Fortress and his family. It was later occupied by Fulgencio Batista's brother-in-law, and after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution it was inhabited by Ché while he was Commander of the Military Department of La Cabaña.

The center has had different functions after that time, and it was in 1970 when it became a House Museum to perpetuate the memory of Ché and was integrated to the Morro-Cabaña Military Historical Park. It was declared a Cultural Center in 2007.

More than a room it was a place of work, because in the afternoons after his duties in the command of the Cabaña he came to this house and attended to important matters and received visits from leaders. It is said that due to his frequent asthma attacks he had to move to East Havana, an environment that was healthier for him, thus closing the place in 1970.

At present, the Casa del Ché (House of Ché) Cultural Center has different historical, socio-cultural, commercial and administrative spaces, with a total of 24 rooms distributed on its two floors.

The Casa del Ché (House of Ché) has a portal, a reception, and the old work office. It has a long corridor that leads to the spaces where you can see elements such as his bedroom, rooms with lots of photographs and information about Ché and his activities, as well as different elements of his personal use. Other spaces are the Ché's oil paintings room, the Creation Workshop, the Chess Room, the Reading Room and the Protocol Room.

On the second floor, there is a lot from where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Christ and the Bay of Havana.

La Casa del Ché es un centro cultural visitado a diario por numerosos turistas y residentes locales en La Habana. Este espacio originalmente fue una casa construida en la década de 1940 para habitación del Jefe Militar de la Fortaleza Militar San Carlos de La Cabaña y su familia. Fue ocupada posteriormente por el cuñado de Fulgencio Batista, y luego del triunfo de la Revolución Cubana fue habitada por el Che mientras ejercía de Comandante del Departamento Militar de La Cabaña.

El centro ha tenido diferentes funciones después de ese tiempo, y fue en 1970 cuando se convirtió en Casa Museo para perpetuar la memoria del Ché integrándose al Parque Histórico Militar Morro-Cabaña. Fue declarado Centro Cultural en 2007.

Más que una habitación constituía un lugar de trabajo, pues en las tardes luego de sus funciones en la comandancia de la Cabaña venía a esta casa y atendía asuntos importantes y recibía visitas de dirigentes. Se cuenta que debido a sus frecuentes ataques de asma tuvo que trasladarse de lugar hacia La Habana del Este, entorno que era más saludable para él, quedando así cerrado el lugar en 1970.

En la actualidad el Centro Cultural Casa del Che cuenta con diferentes espacios históricos, socioculturales, comerciales y administrativos, teniendo en total 24 salas distribuidas en sus dos pisos.

La Casa del Ché cuenta con un portal, una recepción, y la antigua oficina de trabajo. Tiene un largo pasillo que conduce a los espacios dónde se pueden ver elementos com su habitación de dormitorio, salones con gran cantidad de fotografías e información sobre el Ché y sus actividades , así como diferentes elementos de su uso personal. Otros espacios son la sala de óleos del Ché, el Taller de Creación, la Sala de Ajedrez, la Sala de lectura y la Sala de Protocolo.

En su segunda planta existe un solar desde dónde se puede disfrutar de las hermosas vistas del Cristo y la Bahía de La Habana.
