Cuna de talentos / Cradle of talent

La primogénita del continente se caracteriza por ser cuna de notables talentos artísticos que han mostrado sus habilidades alrededor del mundo, dejando su nombre de referencia en la historia, lo cual me hace sentir orgullosa, por ello, me gusta difundir esas propuestas que encuentro en las calles de mi tierra, puesto que soy una cumanesa que valora, respeta y se identifica con su cultura.

The first-born of the continent is characterized for being the cradle of remarkable artistic talents who have shown their skills around the world, leaving their name of reference in history, which makes me feel proud, therefore, I like to spread those proposals that I find in the streets of my land, since I am a cumanesa who values, respects and identifies with its culture.

Influencias artísticas / Artistic influences

Las tradiciones de mi pueblo son parte de la memoria colectiva, al practicarlas me doy cuenta de que están rodeadas de hazañas, de anécdotas, de luchas, de pensamientos divergentes. La influencia de otros grupos sociales es determinante para la adopción de patrones culturales, incluso, de técnicas y estilos cuando se habla de la pintura. Un artista vive su obra y a partir de movimientos o tendencias puede crear su marca personal, la cual estará inspirada en otros autores locales, nacionales o internacionales.

The traditions of my people are part of the collective memory, and as I practice them I realize that they are surrounded by feats, anecdotes, struggles, and divergent thoughts. The influence of other social groups is a determining factor in the adoption of cultural patterns, including techniques and styles when it comes to painting. An artist lives his work and from movements or trends can create his personal brand, which will be inspired by other local, national or international authors.

Una primera mirada a una pieza artística podría posicionarnos en una determinada corriente, tanto así que nos atreveríamos a observar similitudes con el estilo de pintores reconocidos, también podrían figurar elementos simbólicos que nos lleven a otros trazos, incluso con el juego de colores y matices, de allí que estén marcadas las influencias con las épocas, circunstancias sociales, políticas y económicas inherentes a ella.

A first look at an artistic piece could position us in a certain current, so much so that we would dare to observe similarities with the style of recognized painters, symbolic elements could also appear that lead us to other strokes, even with the play of colors and shades, hence the influences are marked with the times, social, political and economic circumstances inherent to it.

El mural / The mural

El mural que les presento pudiera considerarse como de ejecución simple, sin embargo, en lo sencillo de las formas también se esconde un significado especial, este permite una lectura distinta de la ciudad. Hoy incursionamos en el arte geométrico y el cromatismo, los cuales se combinan para crear atmósferas muy interesantes. Las composiciones se logran con el uso de círculos, cuadrados, rectángulos, triángulos y otros elementos geométricos, en tanto, la disposición pictórica hace que se distinga movimiento en dos dimensiones.

The mural that I present to you could be considered as simple in execution, however, in the simplicity of the forms also hides a special meaning, it allows a different reading of the city. Today we are making incursions into geometric art and chromatism, which combine to create very interesting atmospheres. The compositions are achieved with the use of circles, squares, rectangles, triangles and other geometric elements, while the pictorial arrangement makes it possible to distinguish movement in two dimensions.

En este punto, me permito citar al maestro Paul Cézanne, a quien se le conoce como el padre del arte moderno, él dijo que los colores son armónicos entre sí cuando su longitud de onda es bastante parecida, de allí sus teorías sobre el estilo postmoderno, mismo que suele caracterizarse por las figuras geométricas, de hecho, consideraba que las obras artísticas se podían crear aplicando este principio, ya que, según su criterio, todas las formas reconocibles en la realidad parten de la geometría.

At this point, let me quote the master Paul Cézanne, who is known as the father of modern art, he said that colors are harmonious with each other when their wavelength is quite similar, hence his theories on the postmodern style, which is usually characterized by geometric figures, in fact, he considered that artistic works could be created by applying this principle, since, according to his criteria, all recognizable forms in reality are based on geometry.

Por otra parte, en el mural se puede observar la presencia del cromatismo, técnica que consiste en el juego de los colores con la luz. Los tonos armonizan en tanto se desplazan por la gama pictórica, así que cuando se superponen logran un efecto genial. El color negro predomina en el fondo, lo que genera sensación de profundidad.

On the other hand, the mural shows the presence of chromatism, a technique that consists in the play of colors with light. The tones harmonize as they move through the pictorial range, so when they are superimposed they achieve a great effect. The black color predominates in the background, which generates a sensation of depth.

Desde mi visión, dos piezas resaltan ante el resto, se trata del rayo encima de un sol naciente, evocando procesos propios de la naturaleza, y un cuadro con fondo azul, en el cual se incorporan dos elementos, uno amarillo sobre uno negro, generando un tono naranja. Ambas composiciones lucen muy bien logradas, aunque su diseño parezca sencillo, la disposición de las formas y selección cromática logran captar la atención y justamente allí radica la grandeza del arte.

From my point of view, two pieces stand out from the rest, a ray of lightning above a rising sun, evoking nature's own processes, and a painting with a blue background, in which two elements are incorporated, one yellow over a black one, generating an orange tone. Both compositions look very well achieved, although their design seems simple, the arrangement of shapes and chromatic selection manage to capture the attention and precisely therein lies the greatness of art.
