Greetings, dear community. I visit this space again to bring another idea, a didactic game of baskets loaded with vegetables, with which we are going to teach the numbers, the identification of these vegetables and their respective names in English, either their mother tongue or as a second language. We can repeat the names several times and the child can copy it on a sheet of paper, cut it out and place it in the respective basket.

This is an activity that can be adapted for children 6 and 7 years old. We can also use it to add up and show how shopping is done at the market or supermarket. The child is asked to fill the basket with certain vegetables, specifying their quantity. At the same time, he/she should write and name them. At this point, we would take the opportunity to talk about a balanced diet and the benefits of consuming these vegetables.

Visito este espacio nuevamente para traer otra idea, un juego didáctico de cestas cargadas de vegetales, con el cual vamos a enseñar los números, la identificación de estas hortalizas y sus respectivos nombres en inglés, bien sea su idioma materno o como segundo idioma. Podemos repetir varias veces los nombres y el niño puede copiarlo en una hoja, recortarlo y colocárselo a la canasta respectiva.

Esta es una actividad que se puede adaptar a niños de 6 y 7 años de edad. También la podemos usar para sumar y mostrar cómo se realizan las compras en el mercado o el supermercado. Se le solicita al infante que llene la cesta de determinadas hortalizas, puntualizando la cantidad de las mismas. Al tiempo debería escribir y colocarle el nombre. En este punto, aprovecharíamos para hablar sobre una alimentación balanceada y los beneficios de consumir estos vegetales.

Procedure:

I took out the mold the basket on a recycling sheet and then traced six on a white cardboard. I did the same procedure with the vegetables, which were: tomato, bell pepper, carrot, chili, eggplant and onion.

Procedimiento:

Saqué el molde la cesta en una hoja de reciclaje y luego calqué seis en una cartulina blanca. Hice el mismo procedimiento con los vegetales, los cuales fueron: tomate, pimentón, zanahoria, ají, berenjena y cebolla.

I proceeded to color the baskets, using brown and ochre. Afterwards, I outlined all the edges.

Procedí a colorear las cestas, utilicé marrón y color ocre. Posteriormente, remarqué todos los bordes.

Then I colored all the vegetables. To the tomato I put red, the red and yellow peppers. The respective leaves of these vegetables in green. Continuing with this process, I colored the peppers with red and two shades of green.

Luego le di color a todos los vegetales. Al tomate le puse rojo, los pimentones rojo y amarillo. Las respectivas hojas de estas hortalizas de verde. Continuando con este proceso, los ajíes los coloreé con rojo y dos tonos de verde.

For their part, the carrots had an orange pigment and abundant green clusters. As for the onions, I used skin color and brown. Finally, I painted the eggplants purple.

Por su parte, las zanahorias tuvieron un pigmento naranja y abundante racimo en verde. En cuanto a las cebollas, utilicé color piel y marrón. Por último, las berenjenas las pinté de morado.

As we can see, all the figures are separated, since the child is required to fill the baskets and identify the name of each vegetable in English, although it could also be done in Spanish. The objective is that the child learns by playing. That's all for now, until next time.

Como podemos observar, todas las figuras están separadas, puesto que se requiere que sea el niño que vaya llenando las cestas e identificando el nombre de cada vegetal en inglés, aunque también podría hacerlo en español.
