"Everything is a lie."

That is the message in Spanish we can see on the big sign standing on this photo from the art gallery I visited last weekend.

It is a strong statement out there. But is it wrong?

Well.. it is interesting today I was listening to this podcast where they were talking about ambition... But the type of ambition you have at your job, and it is kind of resonating in my mind with this message on this picture. Our life is based on lies? We have to pretend we like to work 8 hours a day at your office so you get paid at the end of the month which is actually what we have to work for really. Some people love their jobs. It is their passion. But most of the population work to have food, to have a place where to live. Not only that we sell our time and effort, but we have to pretend we are happy doing so, we want to show our boss we are doing our best, so we sometimes do extra hours just because otherwise they may think we are not involved enough... is it everything a lie?

Next photo was originally upside down, but as soon as I placed it here I thought it would be cool to see it the other way round as well. And yes! It looks like two different faces to me... There are details from her nose for example that I didn't appreciate on the left.

Also, I am not sure how it has been done, but as you can see, her front head is literally fading out and there is hair that comes from underneath but you can't really see where it starts... I

I love this one. These eyes are so expressive. They are a little bit intimidating but at the same time very sweet with the flower in front of his mouth. I am sorry about the annoying reflections. I wonder if there is a technique to avoid them. If you know one please tell me!

Apart from liking the next picture on the right because of the contrast between the white of the sheets and the only black of the hair. It reminds me of me in the mornings! I hate getting up early for work haha.

On the left we have this elegant woman posing to the camera and a few words written which I can't really read.

The next photos are a series of street photographs and portraits which I loved. They are so special and take you to another culture and another time in history.

Really cool CocaCola advertising on what seems a small corner shop.

Again, I tried hiding my reflection so you could properly see what's going on in this pic. There seems to be an Asian girl sitting down looking up to the camera.

When I saw this picture I thought I should never complain about how expensive renting is, and how much a small room costs these days! This guy lives in a wardrobe! So claustrophobic.

To finish with I chose this photo because I find it really funny. Someone looking through the letter box. They are not looking at the camera therefore it is not giving us the feeling that they are asking who we are. Rather than that it looks like just some noisy neighbor trying to see what is going on outside their door. The photo is so simple but has a great composition, with the eyes being the focal point.

I love this effect. I wonder how they did this back in that time. I have done something similar (or at least the same technique to achieve the same effect) but I have done it with Photoshop, and I am guessing there was no Photoshop back then haha.

It is a bit ghost feeling or could mean the time passing... what it was and is not there anymore...
