Just Moved My Baby Succulents to Soil

Recently our team lead enacted a new rule to stay one hour outside during the powercut time. Even during powercuts we usually continue our work. The next day, he asked, "what did you do yesterday during the powercut time." First days we were speechless as we didn't take it seriously. From the next day, I planned a few little outdoor activities to do during powercut time.

A few weeks back, I kept some succulent leaves to germinate. Correctly plucked succulent leaves can be used to make new plants. It normally takes more than four weeks to give a plant with 1cm diameters. This depends on the type and the climate.

New plants are coming from the node of the leave. This grows using the nutrients of the leave.

There are some leaves that die before the baby plant grows to a certain level. Sometimes the leave dies even before the baby plant gets roots. The growth of the plant is a little bit uncertain during this situation but if you work with patience still it can give you a healthy baby plant.

At one particular point, the mother's leave becomes completely dries. Then you can easily remove it from the new plant with a simple touch.

I had a problem because the roots are always trying to go up instead of down. This makes it difficult to plant it on the soil.

We had some small plaster pairs pots which are not too deep. This is the smallest option for me, so I choose this to plant my new babies.

After adding a layer of gravel, I put sand and compost mixture. I am not sure if this is good or bad, I added some fertilizer to the mixture.

These days fertilizer price is extremely high in our country. I was able to buy 100g of Osmocot N for 500LKR which is very high. I added a few balls of fertilizer to sand before potting the plant.

It's time to move them to soil!
