Adulthood isn't that bad

Adulthood isn't that bad; that will be my reply to anyone who asks how adulthood has been treating me. Growing up in a country where adulthood comes knocking sooner than expected, you can't help but have one or more things to say about adulthood.

There is joy in adulthood, I must say, or should I say I derived some joy in adulthood? We all know adulthood is all about billing nonstop and also different responsibilities from family that are inevitable, even if not all, but one will surely take some of the family's responsibilities.

But amidst all these, there are times I enjoyed adulthood. The feeling one derives from being in one's space cannot be quantified with anything else. I always say that one's peace should be the priority in anyone's life.

The feeling of getting to do what you want and when you want it is the best feeling ever, getting to eat whatever you crave when necessary without any siblings there to share with you. Someone would say I'm stingy; oh no, I'm not, but I love enjoying myself when necessary without external interference.

Sometimes, I would feel like being indoors all day, which I make possible with no one forcing me to go out for whatever reason it may be. Unlike when I was living at home with my parents, that can never be possible. Any day I decide I don't want to go out is the day my mom will need one or two things from the market that she needs me to get for her.

When it comes to food, I'm a foodie, please. I love good food, and I love eating whatever I feel like eating at that particular time. This is only possible when I am in my space. I remember when I was still home with my parents, anyone who doesn't eat whatever is prepared that day will go hungry because, whether one wants it or not, one has no other option than to eat what is available.

Yesterday I felt like eating spaghetti. I went to the market, bought the ingredients, cooked them, and then ate them to my satisfaction. That's part of the joy of adulthood. I don't have to eat what I don't want; for me, it brings joy to my heart.

I also enjoy sleeping whenever I so wish and waking up at a time convenient for me. Back at home, by 5 a.m., it's a must for me to be awake and do all the necessary house chores before leaving home in the morning, even on Saturdays when I have nowhere to go. But in my space, I can wake up whenever I desire, and that alone brings joy to my heart. Good sleep is necessary for healthy living. I wake up when necessary and likewise sleep.

When it comes to social life, I have the opportunity to do whatever I want to do, but I'm not the outdoor type, which makes me always indoors when I don't have things to do outside the comfort of my home. Adulthood might be tiring to some extent, but some things make adulthood a fun stage in one's life.

Thanks for your time, and your comments will be appreciated.

The joy of being indoor is A sanctuary from the outside world, where you can unwind and be you...... Soft blankets, most especially when you have stable power supply and enough data, . A place to escape, reflect, and dream, where self-care and self-love reign supreme.🥰🥰

The other time I was telling my mom that she’s the reason I’m not growing big because it’s a must to eat anything prepared at home
Thank God I’m no more home o

Fun part is, you get to choose what to eat and when to eat it. Adulthood has its advantages.
