If my alarm could talk

The alarm is one way or part of our lifestyle as humans, it has been of great help in terms of promptness that is when things have to be done at the time it is appointed to be done. This prompt reminds me of a time when I bought a table alarm just because I wanted the one that would sound louder than the one on my phone. I bought it and placed it beside the bedside table, each day I set an alarm and it rang, I would hit it out of annoyance because I would still want to enjoy my sleep when it began to ring.

Sometimes I do wish these inanimate objects could talk and share their pains with humans because I treat that alarm so badly, sometimes when I hit it out of annoyance, it will fall off the table. I will pick it up again and just slam it back on the table. It didn't offend me, I was the one that set it to ring at that particular time, then am I being harsh on it? I guess that's the power we humans have over all these inanimate objects. The alarm does serve me well because there are times I would have been late for school or an important meeting but because I had it on to notify me, it will help me get ready in time rather than being late.

It makes me wonder if my alarm could talk, what would it have said to me, probably rebuked me for maltreating it every day despite being good to me and helping out of troubles. "Why are you being ungrateful?" I'm sure that will be the first question it will ask me. " I should be your best friend, instead you are treating me so badly", will follow. These are my thoughts though but I do feel bad sometimes when I act badly to my alarm. If possible it can talk it would have just warned me not to touch it again and if I'm to touch it, I should do it with respect because it is one of my useful items.

After a year, the alarm got spoilt as it fell off the table one morning and since then I haven't gotten another one, I switched to using the one on my phone. There is no how I will slam my phone on the floor because the alarm rang, the respect I couldn't give to the table alarm clock is the one I'm giving to the one on my phone because I don't want my phone to get spoilt. This ought not to be but I guess because I am a human who has control over these things, I take that as an advantage over them.

The alarm plays a significant role in my life because it is my one-time promptness reminder and for that, I think I owe that object the respect for being a best friend of all time even when I'm being rude.

Thanks for your time and your comments will be appreciated.

Is it a bad thing that I actually wanted to buy a table alarm so I could hit it just like they do in movies?

Not really but if the table alarm could talk and feel, you know it will feel bad.
