What I do for a living

There are things we do as humans to earn a living, some legal while some are illegal. Today many choose illegal ways because they believe they work faster than the legal ways of earning a living. This is due to a dead conscience, the righteous ways always seem slow and people don't want to go through the process of being patient.

In response to the edition one of week 106 @hivelearners prompt which asks, "What did I do for a living?". I would have called myself a jack of all trades because I love trying new things. This had been who I was since I was a child, I love trying out things even if it won't be successful, I would want to give it a trial. This brought me to the business I am into presently which I had been on for the past three years.

Aside from blogging on Hive, I'm into human wear. I sell unisex clothing and accessories such as trousers, gowns, wristwatches, shoes, bags, and many more. This was a business I started during my first year in school because I stayed in a student environment where sales for all these things were quite appreciable.

This business exposed me to a world of fashion where I can serve my customers better by giving them quality wear and accessories. Clothes and accessories serve as an adornment for the body, it makes one look more beautiful and endowed.

Putting on good clothes tells so much about who someone is that's why it's said that "you will be addressed, the way you are dressed". This speaks to the importance of dressing well at all times. As humans, we have to look good at all times and this is where my business comes in as a saviour. I stand as a quality manager of people's wardrobes that is what they wear. I'm a lover of fashion, so I don't give less to my customers and that makes me happy.

On the other hand, I am a nurse and a caregiver. My passion and love for humanity were my driving force for this particular profession. I was at a point in my life when I was helpless so I knew what being helpless looked like. I want to be there for whoever needs my help and this is the beauty of this profession, standing in the gap for the less privileged in terms of health challenges.

This is of a bigger advantage to society in the sense that it builds a healthy society where people with health challenges have the hope of being healthy again. What could be more important than a healthy society?

Being a nurse has helped me impact lives positively, giving some people hope for healthy living. A nurse does not discriminate or bias when it comes to human lives. He or she is always ready to help irrespective of tribe or culture, what matters to him or her is the health of the patient in pain right in front of her and that is a great deal.

IF I HAD A CHANCE, WOULD I CHANGE IT?

No, I won't, I love all I do for a living, it gives me peace of mind and that's what matters most. The peace I had of not being afraid to go out because the police would be after me for one reason or another was enough for me. I am earning a good living with this and I cannot take that with levity. If I had the chance to change it, I would still stick to my present decision.
