Building Income Sources | Having Patience and Trusting the Process

Being impatient is a common thing we see when it comes to building wealth. Especially with the influence of mass social media, people see lavish lifestyles, and want that immediately. Instant validation and gratification are what it's all about nowadays. But just a very small fraction of those in the top 1% get rich quick. And usually unfairly. The other more common path to wealth is with knowledge and patience. Trusting the process that moves forward step by step.

The same mentally can be applied here on Hive. These thoughts were formed when I collected the interest from my HBD savings this morning. I thought to myself: hey, were did all this money come from. My savings are almost at 1K, but I don't remember adding any large amounts. This means that it has accumulated slowly over time. By adding earnings from post, buying and selling Hive on the Hive market, and some smaller earnings from Hive Engine tokens. Over the span of 1-2 years this has added up.

And as you can see, it now gives me about 16 HBD (16 USD give or take) each month. In Suriname where I used to live this 16 HBD would pay my electricity and water bills. Where I am now (in the Netherlands), it would at least buy me 2 home cooked meals. That's all depending on location of course. But the main point is that it's all free income, passively adding itself to my net worth. You can't really lose, because you're not putting in any time or energy.

After claiming the 16 HBD I move one step closer to 1000 HBD, which is a sure thing by the end of this year.

When that 1K is reached, I will probably actively start withdrawing the interest in order to put it towards other monthly investments. And then, hopefully, eventually, having a decent amount of patience will pay off.
