The Dutch Spring | When Nature Goes Through Bipolar Puberty 🌷 #APART - A Picture and A Reggae Tune

I recently wrote about first experiencing winter and snow, and now it's almost time to make the switch back to other temperatures. Don't worry, I'm not moving anywhere again. It's just the seasons changing. For me, this is a very weird period here in the Netherlands, where the weather doesn't really know what it wants to be.

The weather in this country is legendarily bipolar, so it's not much of a surprise, but it's still a funny experience to sometimes have to wear 5 layers of clothing, and then other times just shorts and a shirt.

One pretty fun thing to witness in the land of cheese and bikes is the tulips and flowers popping up everywhere. This is a clear sign that spring is almost upon us, at least that's what I've been told. And it seems that everyone everywhere has been putting in tulip bulbs in the ground that are sprouting now. Or in some cases, the roots of the tulips or flowers were already there before winter and are just now waking up again.

This is also what I noticed on the way to the supermarket in a small park, as you can see. Purple and white flowers blooming in tandem.

After months of no green and only gray, it is definitely a refreshing thing to see. Something I can enjoy for a few minutes before returning home with my rice, eggs and potatoes.

The trees themselves didn't get the memo yet it seems, but they will soon know what's up. It will be an even prettier sight when the trees and the flowers bring back all the color.

And then there's this guy on the other side of the flower field, fighting for his life and his individualism. Not sure what his deal is, but he certainly doesn't want to be part of a crowd. He shines brightly on his own, while his sheeple flower brothers and sisters blend in together across the path. Maybe he thinks he can be a tree someday, who knows. All I can do is wish him well and not step on him and his journey.

After taking the pictures of the flowers, literally a week later, we had one day of frost again, funny enough. But don't worry, the flowers are still standing, patiently waiting for the rest of nature to catch up.

I will end with this Reggae tune by Tarrus Riley called My Day. Although it's not really about flowers specifically, it's a happy song that kinda gives the vibes I feel when walking past the blooming colors of nature. So here's to more happy colorful days to come!

What is your experience with going from winter to spring?

!LOL Wait till the other flowers pop out hahaha. What if it's only one color of the flowers, then there's not much of individuality left 😂.

!LUV Seeing those flowers did make me happier that day though hihihi.

I will personally spray paint that one flower blue, just so he can keep his individuality! !LOL
