Wie geht es euch?
Mit der Gürtelrose wird es langsam besser. Sie sitzt zwar immer noch im Auge, aber ich kann schon viel besser sehen und konnte die Medikamente bereits auf die Dosis reduzieren, die ich vorher nehmen musste.
Am Mittwoch steht der nächste Termin beim Augenarzt an – mal sehen, ob das Auge wieder in Ordnung ist und ich die Medikamente endlich ganz absetzen kann. Drückt mir die Daumen! 🤞 Die letzten zwei Monate waren wirklich verdammt hart. Und ich bin einfach nur froh, dass ich mich wieder besser fühle.
Nachdem ich wegen meiner Gesundheit mehrere Gigs absagen musste (ich hatte zum Glück eine gute Vertretung, die für mich eingesprungen ist), habe ich letzte Woche wieder einen Gig gespielt. Es war ein „kurzer“ Auftritt. Nur 15 Songs. Also habe ich es einfach versucht. Es hat riesigen Spaß gemacht, aber es war SO heiß. Dadurch war es echt anstrengend zu spielen. Nach dem Gig war ich völlig fertig. Aber nun ja, ich habe es vermisst. Es war einfach toll. ❤️
Wir haben auf einem Mini-Festival mit zwei anderen Bands gespielt. Wir waren der Headliner, und das gesamte gesammelte Geld wurde an ein Kinderheim gespendet. Insgesamt kamen 1780 Euro zusammen. Das ist großartig! Und es ist ein tolles Gefühl, beim Spendensammeln zu helfen. 💲
Im nächsten Post werde ich euch mehr über den Gig erzählen und ein paar Videos zeigen.
Außerdem habe ich mir eine Woche vor dem Gig ein neues Schlagzeug gekauft. Einfach, um mich nach diesen langen, beschissenen Wochen der Krankheit selbst zu belohnen. 🥁😄
Ich möchte euch das Setup zeigen, das ich mir gerade aufbaue, und erklären, warum ich es genau so baue.
Vielleicht ist es ja auch für andere Drummer interessant, was ich so spiele. 😊
Ich habe in den letzten Monaten viel recherchiert, was das perfekte Setup für meine Bedürfnisse wäre. Und ich habe ein Geschäft nur eine halbe Stunde von mir entfernt, in dem ich vor über 20 Jahren auch mein allererstes Schlagzeug gekauft habe. Der Besitzer des Ladens ist genial – super hilfsbereit, sehr freundlich und absolut kompetent und professionell. Ich gehe total gerne mit meinem besten Freund dorthin (der vor 4 Monaten übrigens auch mit dem Schlagzeugspielen angefangen hat).
Ich bin dorthin gefahren, um 3 verschiedene Schlagzeuge anzutesten, nachdem wir ausführlich darüber gesprochen hatten, was ich brauche, und er mir die 6 besten Kits für diese Anforderungen gezeigt hatte. Ich habe mir 3 ausgesucht und sie getestet.
Ich liebe es einfach, in diesem Laden zu sein. Es ist, als gäbe es dort ein Zeitloch. Ich gehe rein und komme gefühlt erst viel später wieder raus, nur um festzustellen, dass ich 3 Stunden lang drin war. 😂 Ich liebe Schlagzeuge so sehr, ich würde am liebsten jedes Set spielen, das dort steht.
Nun, am Ende habe ich mich für ein Kit entschieden, obwohl es eine schwere Wahl zwischen zwei Modellen war. Ich bin mir sicher, dass ich mir das zweite Set auch noch kaufen werde, sobald ich wieder genug Geld dafür habe. 😄
Das ist das Set, das ich mir ausgesucht habe 😍:
Es ist ein TAMA Club Jam Vintage in der Farbe Natural Satin mit einer 18" x 12" Kick Drum, einer 13" x 05" Snare und zwei Toms in den Größen 10" x 07" und 14" x 07".
Ich habe mir direkt eine bessere Snare Drum dazu gekauft, da diese ja das Herzstück des Kits ist. Die, die beim Set dabei war, ist nicht schlecht, aber ich wollte endlich mal eine echte High-End-Snare haben. Ich spiele ein kleines Kit, weil es besser für meine Gesundheit ist – es ist einfach nicht so anstrengend, wenn man sich nicht ganz so viel bewegen muss.
Also habe ich eine Tama S.L.P. Mod-Bubinga in der Größe 12" x 07" gekauft.
Dieses Teil ist der Hammer. Sie ist aus einem sehr teuren Holz gefertigt und hat durch ihre Tiefe von 7" einen super warmen Sound und einfach einen genialen, knackigen Rimshot-Klang. Ich liebe sie! Und es macht so einen riesigen Unterschied für den Sound und das Spielgefühl, endlich eine High-End-Snare zu haben. 😍
Ich wollte auch ein neues Bass-Drum-Pedal haben. Und auch hier wollte ich auf ein High-End-Modell setzen. Also bin ich wieder in den Laden gefahren, um 5 verschiedene Pedale anzutesten. Ich habe lange zwischen zwei Modellen hin- und herüberlegt.
Am Ende habe ich mich für eine TAMA HP900PMPR Iron Cobra Power Glide Psychedelic Rainbow entschieden.
Die Iron Cobra ist der absolute Profi-Standard, wenn es ums Trommeln geht. Und die Farbe Psychedelic Rainbow ist eine limitierte Sonderedition. Tama verrät zwar nie, wie viele Exemplare sie von den limitierten Serien herstellen, aber in der Vergangenheit waren es immer nur um die 1000 Stück. Das Geniale daran ist, dass keine zwei Pedale gleich aussehen. Jedes Einzelne ist ein Unikat.
Das liegt daran, dass sie das Design im Wassertransferdruck-Verfahren aufbringen. Das eine Pedal hat mehr Pink, das andere mehr Grün oder Blau. Mir hat das mit viel Pink besonders gut gefallen, also habe ich mir dieses ausgesucht:
Jetzt habe ich also ein wirklich solides, professionelles Schlagzeug. 🎉 Es macht so unglaublich viel Spaß, darauf zu spielen! Das Einzige, was mir jetzt noch fehlt, sind High-End-Becken.
Das steht als Nächstes auf meiner Liste. Ich habe auch über Becken extrem viel recherchiert. Es gibt natürlich einige bekannte High-End-Marken wie Zildjian, Sabian, Meinl, Paiste, Istanbul usw. Aber ich habe im Internet eine Marke namens Agean entdeckt. Das ist eine kleinere Marke aus der Türkei. Der Unterschied ist, dass diese Becken nicht industriell gefertigt, sondern handgeschmiedet werden. Ich habe viel nachgelesen, und im Grunde genommen kann man keine besseren Becken bekommen. Die Qualität ist absolutes High-End. Trotzdem sind sie ein bisschen günstiger als die ganz großen Marken.
Und ich habe riesiges Glück: Der deutsche Vertrieb für diese Becken ist ebenfalls nur eine halbe Stunde von mir entfernt! 😍 Also bin ich natürlich direkt mit meinem Kumpel dorthin gefahren, um mir die ganzen Becken mal anzusehen.
Wir haben weit über eine Stunde lang super viele verschiedene Becken getestet. Sie haben 17!! verschiedene Serien mit völlig unterschiedlichem Klang. Das ist echt eine verdammt schwere Wahl. Aber nachdem ich sie angespielt, mit dem Ladenbesitzer gesprochen und mir Videos von den Becken angehört habe, habe ich 4 Serien für mich in die engere Auswahl genommen, die wahrscheinlich die beste Wahl wären.
Ich denke, ich werde die Natural- oder die Samet-Serie als Basis nehmen (also für Hi-Hat, Ride und ein Crash) und die Elegant- oder Beast-Serie als Ergänzung für weitere Crash- und Effektbecken.
Der Look von rohen, unabgedrehten Becken („unlathed“) gefällt mir unglaublich gut. Und ich finde, sie passen optisch einfach perfekt zu meinem neuen Schlagzeug. Abgesehen davon haben unabgedrehte Becken auch einen ganz anderen Sound. Sie klingen nicht so brillant und der Klang ist meistens kürzer (weniger Sustain), was ich absolut liebe.
Also ja, das wird teuer. Deswegen werde ich ein Becken nach dem anderen kaufen. Aber in den nächsten Wochen werde ich noch einmal dorthin fahren, um mein finales Setup auszuwählen. Dann weiß ich zumindest genau, was es mich insgesamt kosten wird. Schauen wir mal. Ich halte euch auf dem Laufenden! 😄

How are you doing?
The shingles are getting better. It´s still inside my eye, but I can see much better and I was able to reduce the medicine to only have the dose I had to take before.
Another eye doctor appointment on wednesday, so let´s see if the eye is ok again and I can finally stop the medicine. Keep your fingers crossed. 🤞 This were very tough last 2 months. And I am happy that I feel better.
After having to cancel several gigs due to my health (I had a good substitute playing for me), I played one gig last week. It was a "short" one. Only 15 songs. So I tried. It was alot of fun, but it was SO hot. So it was very tough to play. I was exhausted after the gig. But well, I missed it. It was alot of fun. ❤️
We played at a mini festival with 2 other bands. We were the headliner, and all money that was collected was donated to a children`s home. It was 1780 Euros in total. That is great. And it is a great feeling to help collect money for donation purposes. 💲

I also bought a new drumkit a week before the gig. Just to reward myself after this long shitty weeks of illness. 🥁😄
I want to show you the setup I am currently building, and why I am building it this way.
Maybe for other drummers it might be interesting what I play. 😊
I researched alot the last months what would be the perfect setup to fit my needs. And I have a store half an hour away from my home where I also bought my first drum kit over 20 years ago. The owner of the shop is awesome, very helpful, very friendly and absolutely skilled and professional. So I love going there with my best friend (who also started playing the drums 4 months ago).
I went there to play 3 different drumkits after we talked alot about what I need and he showed me the best 6 kits for these needs. I chose 3 and tested them.
I just love beeing in that store. It´s like there is a time hole. I go there, and I come out later to realize I was in there for 3 hours. 😂 I love drums so much, I would love to just play every kit there is.
Well I finally decided for one kit, it was a tough choice between two of them. I am sure, I will buy the second one also as soon as I have enough money again. 😄
This is the set I chose 😍:
It is a TAMA Club Jam Vintage in the color Natural Satin with a 18" x 12" Kick Drum, a 13" x 05" snare, and two toms with 10" x 07" and 14" x 07" size.
I bought a better snare drum for it, as this is the center of the kit. The one that was with the kit is not bad, but I just wanted to have a high end snare finally. I play a small kit because it´s better for my health, it´s not as exhausting when you don´t have to move so much.
So I bought a Tama S.L.P. Mod Bubinga. 12" x 07" size.
This one is awesome. It is made of a very expensive wood and due to the depth size of it of 7", it has a very warm sound and just an awesome punchy rimshot sound. I love it. And it makes such a big difference for the sound and the feeling to have a high end snare drum finally. 😍
I also wanted to have a new bass drum pedal. And I also wanted to aim for a high end one. Again I went to the store to play 5 different ones. I was going back and forth between two of them.
I finally chose a TAMA HP900PMPR Iron Cobra Power Glide Psychedelic Rainbow
The iron cobra is an absolute professional standard when it comes to drumming. And the color psychedelic rainbow is a limited special edition. Tama never tells how many they produce of the limited series, but in the past it was around only 1000 pieces. The awesome thing with this is, that no 2 pedals look the same. Every one is unique.
Because they print it with water transfer printing. One has more pink, the other one more green or blue. I liked the pink alot, so I chose this one:
So now, I have a very solid, professional drumkit. 🎉 It makes so much fun to play!! The only thing missing for it, are high end cymbals.
So this is the next thing on my list. I researched alot about cymbals also. There are of course several high end brands like Zildjian, Sabian, Meinl, Paiste, Istanbul etc. But I found a brand on the internet that is called Agean. It is a smaller brand from Turkey. The difference is, that these cymbals are not industrially manufactured, but hand-forged. I researched alot, and basically you can´t get any better cymbals. The quality is on the very high end. But yet they are a bit cheaper than big brands.
And I am very lucky. The german store for these cymbals is also only half an hour away from me. 😍 So of course, I went there with my friend to have a look at all the cymbals.
We tested lot´s of different ones for more than an hour. They have 17!! different series with very different sound. It is a very tough choice. But after playing them, after talking to the shop owner and after listening to videos of the cymbals, I chose 4 series for me that would be the best choice probably.
I think I will go with the Natural or the Samet as base (like Hihat, Ride and a Crash), and the Elegant or Beast as addon for more Crash and Effect cymbals.
I really like the look of raw and unlathed cymbals. And I think they fit perfectly to the look of my new drumkit. Apart from that, unlathed cymbals have a different sound. They are not as brilliant, most of the time the sound is shorter, which I really love.
So yeah, this will be expensive. So I will buy one after the other. But during the next few weeks, I will go there again so chose my final setup. So I really know what it would cost me in total. Let´s see. I will keep you posted. 😄

Hey, I have that kit, but I like the finish on yours. It is decent for the money, but of course there will be compromises. I'm also thinking of getting a better snare. I am going to a big drum show later this year so I may find one there. There are just not many drum shops where I could try that many.
Cymbals are a whole other world with lots of variety. I went for Zultan that are also hand made in Turkey. You can spend as much as you want on these things.
I hope you recover so you can play more. I'm getting a few gigs with the band and there is nothing quite like playing for an audience.

Ah cool that you have that kit too. I know it´s not a high end kit. The Mapex Mars Bebop for example which I also played is quite a bit better due to the other kind of wood it has. But I changed every drumhead and put expensive ones on it, and that made the sound like 1000% better. The drumkit itself only makes like 30% of the sound, the drumheads the other 70%. So that is the most important step.
So now it sounds very very good. Also on stage with microphones.
Yes the snare is a huge difference. Worth the money for sure. Too bad that you don´t have too many drum shops near. I am lucky where I live.
Yeah Zultan is quite good too! True. You could also buy cymbals and a drumkit for 10k or more haha. Expensive hobby we have.

I have changed the head on my snare and will look at doing the others. I think you get better fittings when you pay more. I have noticed that the bass drum head can slip in a bit when transporting it, but then I don't have proper bags. At least you can upgrade in stages as you can afford it. There are cymbals that cost about as much as my whole kit!

Thank you! Drums is always expensive, because you can buy another piece here and another piece here... 😄 Expensive instrument that takes up alot of space. But I love it so much.
Thank you! =) I wasn´t able to work on much during the last 2 months. And I also learned to have less stress. So I will not continue working in the pace like the last years. From now on, everything will take longer. I have a few projects I am working on (like my animal meditation music) and won´t add anymore projects, before another one is done.

Yeah, also a little "problem" of me. If I do a new project, I wanna do it 100%. So it can get stressful quite fast.
That´s why I will focus on a few only at the moment. Animal meditation music is the most important for me now. I want to launch it in January, so I try to prepare as much as I can till then.

Hello everyone I hope you are all good and well today in this post is some of the evidence to prove my case
If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone
