When I think about my previous experience with the Internet prior to discovering Hive, the majority of the memories are connected to scrolling. Also, opening social media platforms to watch one after another post appear on my screen and further closing them after a certain amount of time had become routine. This whole process was entertaining but I did not feel like I was creating something more like wasting my time.

So when I discovered Hive my experience with the Internet gradually transformed. The first major difference I noticed was that I could express my opinions and views without needing to be an expert in any field since Hive encouraged me to share my thoughts, experiences and even daily struggle through writing. And when I started joining Hive I felt lik I was joining a community in which everyone was familiar with each other. @yechee and @storicious are an example of such people whose presence on Hive in particular has impacted my journey in a positive direction. I do feel that they are like here as real people withs whom I could communicate rather than simply posting something and waiting for likes and comments.I really enjoy talking to them and hear out their point of view.

I need to share this that Hive helped me prioritize my activities when I am online. But when I scroll through the social media platforms I start entertaining myself and I do not feel like I am making some meaningful progress with my content creation. When I have free time I think about how I could spend this time on Hive by posting some content or simply reading other's stories.

I won't say that I do not use social media platforms anymore also I do not feel like I misss being on those platforms when I scroll through them for hours. The Internet has provided me with an opportunity to explore people or their lives and stories. I find it fascinating how people are so different from each other as everyone perceives the world around them (and specific topics) differently. Hive allows me to come across such people and read their posts. Sometimes I open Hive to write something and I end up spending a considerable amount of time reading other's posts and curating them. Being 50+ is already challenging but I do not want to waste my time on something for which I do not feel any motivation.

What is the major difference Hive made in my Internet lifestyle? I would say it shifted a significant part of my attention from scrolling to creating content and expressing my views and opinions in general. As of now I believe that I am spending my time wisely because I am doing something for which I genuinely care.
