Hello beautiful sewing community, it is a pleasure to greet you again, as always I wish you great blessings from God! I welcome you to a new handmade sewing project!
In my project today I will show you how to make a cute and comfortable vaquita themed neck pillow, these pillows can be very beneficial to rest and relax anytime or anywhere, and for people who have problems at the neck level, they are perfect for not hurting the neck and maintaining proper posture.
Vamos!
There is no doubt that we can take great advantage of the function of this piece, and the reason why I am motivated to make one, is because I have to take my daughter in the car to various places and sometimes she falls asleep, the constant movement makes her neck move a lot which worries me during the walk; and since he loves cows, I made this pillow for his comfort in the car. If you like this idea, I invite you to watch this wonderful tutorial until the end! Come on!

(PROCEDIMIENTO)

(PROCEDURE)

Paso 01

Step 01

Okay folks, basically I already have my mold of a big letter "C" made and cut on a cardboard, so the first thing we will do is place it on the double white fabric, leaving the ends a little bit out and then we cut the outline to have two equal parts.

IMG_20220908_154445~2.jpg

Paso 02

Step 02

We take the shapes of the ends that we left out to cut them in the black fabric, and thus combine the colors of the pillow.

IMG_20220908_154855~2.jpg

Paso 03

Step 03

Once this is done, we draw the silhouette of a cow's head on a cardboard, and we transfer all these pieces to the fabrics according to the corresponding color. Since we are going to make a kind of stuffed animal, use white fabric to make the two pieces for the face, flesh color for the nose, and cut four black and white circles for the ears.

IMG_20220908_155759~2.jpg

Paso 04

Step 04

Then start sewing the face parts to the nose. We draw two ovals and embroider them with black thread for the eyes. You can also embroider the nostrils, in my case I used white fabric paint for the quickest.

IMG_20220908_170228~3.jpg

Paso 05

Step 05

Once we have the face made, we take the circles of the ears and sew the outline of the opposite side leaving a small hole to turn them. Then we fold in half and pin them to one of the parts of the face. Then we confront both parts of the cow's head and sew the edges once again leaving a small hole.

IMG_20220908_160800~2.jpg

Paso 07

Luego giramos nuevamente hacia ambos derechos.

Step 07

Then we turn again to both rights. The truth is that I completely forgot the photographs of this step, but you must also make two horns, I chose yellow fabric so that they stand out. Now through the hole we left earlier we introduce a little padding and close with a seam.

IMG_20220908_172825~2.jpg

Paso 08

Step 08

Having the vaquita's head ready, we begin to assemble the pillow. We start with the lower ends, sewing the black piece to the end of the big white “C”. Then we cut out a few spots of black fabric and embroider them on the pillow with an armhole or circle seam.

IMG_20220908_175709_HDR~2.jpg

Paso 09

Step 09

It is important that you do all of this before assembling the pillow as it becomes very difficult to do afterwards. When you are sure that nothing is missing, what we will do is confront both parts of the cushion and sew the entire contour of both pieces, leaving the hole through which the filling will be inserted after turning. Then we sew the head of the cow to one of the ends of the cow, we fit the stuffing very well and close with a seam on the outside.
