A crisis of educational values, or is it a necessary change over time?

Greetings again my dear friends I hope you are all very well, everything we do and everything that surrounds us changes over time, and all this we begin to notice when we perceive declines or crises in certain actions, so constantly in our minds all kinds of questions bouncing around.

Are we in an economic and ecological crisis, as well as a crisis of educational values?

They are concerns that frame our thoughts and to which we seek to respond, both personally and collectively, the important thing is to have a reaction to a possible collapse of some of the activities that are part of our lives, for example, many people say that we are currently in a crisis of values in general and to which we have to react, in order not to harm future generations.

In the first place, we can say that when we begin to notice some crisis or possible collapse of some structure of our interest, it is almost always due to the experimentation of changes, and this mixture of crisis and change, generate opportunities to improve what needs to be improved, and build moral and ethical systems with scales more adapted to the constant changes to which we are subjected as humanity, and this aspect seems to be the common denominator in the coming decades.

One of the crises that may concern us is that of educational values, however, we can note that the predominant values are not disappearing, some of them are relegated to the background, and others are coexisting with new values that emerge in this present technological modernity, which have allowed mass expressions and points of view that were previously repressed, being one of these emerging agents the social networks, and which we must take care of their use and we must do them both at home and from schools or educational spaces.

We have learned over the years that one of the most important sources of emission and injection of the understanding of values are the schools, where students must be guaranteed the necessary skills to enable them to join society, without leaving aside the global context that remains constantly updated, as political conflicts and, thus, social.

In general, it is a set of values that exist endorsed by societies and that demand to be taught in schools, however, everything is relative, and will depend on the opinion of the person who decides to accept what value he considers appropriate for himself, even if it is not the most suitable socially, the educational scheme has its studied approach and will always try to provide the necessary light for an adequate choice of values.

Conclusion

We know that this field represents for humanity a tool of incalculable power, and that is why it is important to achieve the transmission or development of a critical thinking in our educational institutions, this will limit in our societies to form values without being tied to an indoctrination of a certain political preference of the moment.

From this point of view, I think that we would be able to move away from the perception of danger of the crisis of values, that is, to stop seeing the crisis of values as a danger, and start to broaden our vision and eliminate existing conflicts due to trivial elements, such as geographic location, political color or the essential characteristic of thinking differently.

I know it is very simple to say it, but it is very different to apply it, however, the solution is there at the surface and depending on our own actions, having as a main tool the field of education.
