The ancient farmers did not have great technological devices, however, they came to know in abundance how natural life works.

One of the most important pieces of knowledge passed down from the past to our times has been the influence of the moon in much of our life, especially in our natural lung: vegetation.

Many recent studies have shown how the moon influences in great ways our sowings, crops and gardens. It influences soil moisture and the movement of sap from the roots to the fruits and viceversa.

The crescent moon period or crescent moon phase is one of the most beautiful moments in the planting process, the crossing of the sap, when the vital liquid begins to rise from the roots to the stems and flowers of the plants.

Put in a very minimalist way we can say that our plants face two periods of approximately 14 days each, ranging from the waning phase and new moon to the period of crescent and full moon.

During the waning phase and the new moon all the sap or energy of our plants is concentrated towards the roots absorbing all the mineral nutrients and in a certain way the life that is imprinted by the earth and the ecosystem that surrounds it under the subsoil.

GROWING MOONLIGHT

Now during the crescent and full moon phase all those minerals that were consumed in the previous phase begin to move from the root to the branches, leaves, stems, flowers and fruits.

In this moon, we find the ideal moment to collect the fruits since they will be more juicy and tasty.

It is also the time when we can observe greater activity both in flowering, here will develop more bulbs and flowers with greater vigor.

We can also see the growth of new leaves replacing those born in the previous period and a marked extension of the stem of our plants, shrubs and trees.

PLANTING BY LUNAR PHASES

As we can see, each phase of the moon has its particularities, what to do during this growing time:

Harvesting: it is the primordial thing the fruits and leaves will be more juicy in this period, so do not hesitate to enjoy the goodness of your fruit trees and vegetables.

Transplanting: although not all types of vegetation can be transplanted in this moon, it is prudent to transplant those of annual fruits and those that grow on the ground, thus pumpkins, tomatoes, peppers are favorable as well as cereals.

Grafting: you will also find a practical time to graft fruit trees and flowers, as the sap in the trunk will provide nutrients and moisture conducive to do it more efficiently.

Foliar fertilizer: applying fertilizers through the leaves is recommended since the plant will incorporate it to the sap and during the return phase to the soil it will provide nutrients to the subsoil.

WHAT NOT TO DO

Avoid pruning work as the moisture in the branches and stems could generate additional stress on your plants or cause fungus on them.

Cutting wood is also not a good idea as the moisture will cause them to rot and make them less usable for uses such as firewood, shelves or DIY work.

Planting vegetables that grow under the soil, the scarce sap in the roots will reduce vigor, giving thinner and more elongated fruits.

Uno de los más importantes conocimientos trasmitidos desde el pasado hasta nuestros tiempos, ha sido la influencia de la luna en gran parte de nuestra vida, especialmente en nuestro pulmón natural: La vegetación.

Muchos estudios recientes han demostrado como la Luna influye en gran maneras en nuestra siembras, cultivos y jardines. Influyendo en la humedad de la tierra y el desplazamiento de la savia desde las raíces hasta los frutos y viceversa.

El período de luna creciente o fase de luna creciente es uno de los momentos más hermosos dentro del proceso de siembra, la travesía de la savia,cuando empieza a subir el líquido vital desde las raíces hasta los tallos y flores de las plantas.

Dicho de una forma muy minimalista podemos decir que nuestras plantas afrontan dos períodos de aproximadamente 14 días cada uno, que van desde la fase de cuarto menguante y luna nueva hasta el período de cuarto creciente y luna llena.

Durante la fase menguante y la Luna nueva toda la savia o energía de nuestras plantas se concentran hacia las raíces absorbiendo todos los nutrientes minerales Y de cierta manera la vida que la imprime la tierra y el ecosistema que lo rodea bajo el subsuelo.

CRECIENDO LA LUZ DE LUNA

Ahora bien durante la fase creciente y de luna llena todas esos minerales que se fueron consumidos en la fase anterior comienzan a desplazarse desde la raíz hasta las ramas hojas tallos flores y frutos.

En esta luna, encontramos el momento ideal para colectar los frutos ya que serán más jugosos y sabrosos.

También es el momento en que podremos observar mayor actividad tanto en la floración, aquí se desarrollarán mayor cantidad de bulbos y flores con mayor vigor.

Podemos ver además, el crecimiento de las hojas nuevas sustituyendo aquellas nacidas en el período anterior y una marcada extensión del tallo de nuestras plantas, arbustos y árboles.

SEMBRAR POR FASES LUNARES

Cómo podemos ver, cada fase de la luna tiene sus particularidades,que hacer durante este momento creciente:

Cosechar: es lo primordial los frutos y hojas serán más jugosos en este período, así que no dude de disfrutar las bondades de sus frutales y vegetales.

Transplante: si bien no todo tipo de vegetación, puede transplantarse en esta luna,si es prudente aquellas de frutos anuales y las que crecen sobre el suelo, de esta forma calabazas, tomates, pimientos son propicios así como cereales.

Injertar: también hallará un momento práctico para hacer injertos de frutales y flores, ya que la savia en el tronco aportará nutrientes y humedad propicias para hacerlo de forma más eficiente.

Abono foliar: aplicar abonos a través de las hojas si es recomendable ya que la planta la incorporará a la savia y durante la fase de retorno al suelo aportará nutrientes al subsuelo.

QUE NO HACER

Evite realizar trabajos de poda ya que la humedad en las ramas y tallos podría generar estrés adicional en sus plantas o causar hongos en las mismas.

Cortar madera tampoco es buena idea ya que la humedad hará que se pudran y sean menos aprovechables para usos como leña, estantes o trabajos de bricolaje.

Sembrar verduras que crecen bajo suelo, la escasa savia en las raíces restará vigor dando frutos más delgados y alargados.

DISFRUTE
