How Much Are You Willing To Pay For Hope

I come from a country where the socio-economic state of the country has rendered almost everyone in the country hopeless, so one of the best things they can do for theirselves is migrate. Some people can afford to migrate while some people can’t afford to migrate, so they try their best to buy this hope. How do they buy this hope? Being a country filled with a lot of hopeless citizens, convincing them on something promising and hopeful is really easy because in life, hope is that one thing that keeps us living. When a man loses is hope in life, they dont value their lives and one of the things that makes a man quite hopeful with their lives is when they have a source of income and they are the primary provider of their household. But sadly, a lot of people in my country dont have that privilege because of the socio-economic standard of the country, hence the reason people get scammed easily because they are trying to buy hope.

source Nigerians have gotten scammed in numerous ways especially through get rich quick schemes, because people are looking for the easiest way to get out of poverty. Some of them fail to do their research when presented a get rich quick scheme to them, because at that moment that get rich quick scheme was their only hope and they want to hold on to it. Three years ago, I encountered someone that told me that he found a site that lets you mine crypto and earn 3% of your investment every day. That sounded too good to be true but I decided to try it, I tried it with $20 just to see if I can withdraw my money, tried it and I was able to withdraw my money. I was excited and invested more money into, I went ahead and invited more people to invest. I did my research, but because I love the hope and the idea of making 3% daily, I wanted to be in denial. Any more research and I find the truth, it would kill the hope I had. This was the idea I was working with. I got my return on investment after one month, a week later the site shut down and a lot of people lost their money.

Just like a pyramid scheme, we the early investors didn’t lose, but the late investors lost. I didn’t lose but I learnt my lesson to do a proper research which I did after, and realised that a crypto mining machine can’t give you 3% profit daily, it gives you maximum of 10% and with the cost of mining it is almost not possible to achieve that. After learning this, I decided to never fall for any false crypto mining platform and their promises. Four years later another crypto mining platform came up and just as usual they advertised the same promises as they did three years ago, but due to my experience I didn’t fall for it. Unfortunately new people fell and no matter how much I tried to convince them that its a scam they refused to listen and ended up losing their money.
