A newbee first withdrawal nightmare

She was so happy to make her first hive withdrawal but didn't anticipate what hit her.

I'm Sharing this story as a case study for newbees to learn.

A good friend of mine that use to go by the username @faithann let go of her hive account for a new one today. She lost the account because she lost her keys. All of them!

How so you'd want to ask? Apparently my friend didn't download her keys during registration. Before we judge her this was what happened.

She had hassles signing up with her own phone and so she had used her husband's phone for the process since his phone was more sophisticated.

Note that she attempted using her phone. However when she signed up successfully with her spouse's phone, she tactically login on her own phone and started blogging without putting much importance on the rest keys.

Meanwhile, her husband's phone either got formatted or she didn't download her keys. This hit her when she was ready to make her first cash out but couldn't find them. Alteast not the right ones.

Apparently my friend had made multiple attempts during registration and downloaded all key but the main one she eventually settled for. The risk of multiple attempts.

She had seeked for assistant from me for password recovery and I had explained to her how it goes. That without her private or master keys, the account is as good as lost.

She escalated to @Stayten and @KittyGirl but couldn't get it back since she doesn't have her keys.

Now she has to start afresh. She lost her dear @faithann account. She lost her blogs, activities, friends and most importantly her earnings.

She's back with the user name
@ozohu. Let's show her some love and support if we can.

Meanwhile, she is set as the beneficiary for this post and would receive the votes directly if any.

This post is dedicated to her and all newbies to learn from her mistake. I wish it gets to as many newbies as possible to further emphasize the importance of keeping the Hive keys safe and secure.

Oh dear, that's so bad to hear about her... Losing all your earnings and friends you've connected with, that's really sad.

She made a mistake that any other person could have also made so I'm not blaming her at all, I just hope she remains strong and get started with her new account.

At least, I believe she has the knowledge to grow a new account even faster than the last one with her former experience.

Well done in supporting and encouraging her, it's very kind of you. Let's hope she grows back again

I felt so sad for her, because we both had long hours of mentoring to help her build the account

Oh dear! That's really sad
So I guess you also need encouragement as you've also been behind her growth here on Hive.

Just stay strong for her and help her build up again, she has learnt a good lesson and would do extremely well from now

I feel so sorry for her. I'm glad she didn't give hope.

I just read through her introduction post. It's time to show her all the support we can.

Thank you @readthisplease for being considerate enough to support her 💛

The personal assistance that your friend got and that took a lot of work from the team was just not enough. Hopefully the fact you say that the > long hours of mentoring to help her build the account >
Also learned you a thing or two. The fact that there is not a lot of hive lost is payment , not fun but thats life. She will do fine , but has alot to read aswell. So hopefully the terminal did make a difference and i am proud of the way that the 2 team members @Stayten and @thekittygirl did all they could.

I wish you good luck @faithann @ozohu. do drop in when you have a chance.

The terminal rocks

Oh yes the terminal rocks! And there is much love there!

Please pardon my seeming ungratefulness. Sometimes words fail to express whats inside.

I'm super grateful for the dedication @stayten and @thekittygirl showed towards my careless case.

Honestly I felt bad for overworking both especially @stayten who stayed up and stayed strong just to resolve my issue even when he was supposed to be resting to help him recover faster.

Thank you guys for all that you did @readthisplease @stayten @thekittygirl @brittandjosie

Much Love and Respect.

That is truly a terrible story but it does show how important keys are.

We want freedom, with that comes responsibility. It is not up to others to do that on our behalf.
