How Do You Teach A 12 Year Old Who Is Looking Up To You Crypto.

I’m about to embark on an exciting journey and am so excited about it. Few days ago I met @zeraton, he said he was interested in blogging and would like to join Hive, while explaining what Hive is to him and how he is going to learn some crypto terms to totally understand his environment, his little brother, @exceltogame said he was interested. I laughed for a second because I felt he was too young to start learning about cryptocurrency. But then I remembered that there are lots of kids who learned about crypto online, we have seen kids who are less younger than him that are mining cryptocurrency. Of course with supervision and guidance from their parents or any adult at all.

@exceltogaming is a really smart kid who has made me proud with the little time I have spent with him. Onboarding other people on crypto, some times most of them call me with questions on how to log in with their keys, but I was surprised to see him log in to Hive without asking me to help him. I asked him how and what he did, he told me he only followed instructions and did what he was told and he was able to log in. Making those statements won my heart already because that was really smart. I know lots of adults are distracted with life and stuff about life, so when they encounter things like how to use their Hive keys, they get scared and overwhelmed because they don’t want to make mistakes. But this 12 year old is still young and innocent, hasn’t made any mistakes yet, this has given him the opportunity to be curious and take decisions with open mind.

In the aspect of teaching him about crypto, I guess I will have to use 12 year olds terms and examples to make him understand better. I know for sure that I won’t be using big words like inflation, supply, demand, value, hierarchy and all that when explaining things to him. I will have to go and search for my 12 year old personality that have been hidden for more than 10 years to be able to explain things better for him.

I will also be watching some YouTube videos for guidance because it’s going to be a tough one. For instance he noticed the value on his introduction post reduced and he was confused. He reached out to me ask why the value of his post reduced, I was glad he noticed that. That started my discussion explaining what volatility is. Wow!!! Tough lesson, explaining what volatility is, I had to use candies and cookies to explain, because this is something practical that I felt he can relate to.

I wanted to explain what blockchain is, but I felt it will be a little bit advanced for him. Right now I don’t mind getting help from you guys, YouTube links and YouTube video recommendations will be highly accepted and appreciated. Joining the leofinance community will be too advanced for him so am not going to suggest that. I’m really curious to know how serious he is willing to keep up with Hive. Time will tell, I certainly wish him the best because taking the decision at a very is a brave step. You guys should watch out for him.

You ll do so much, but I think it is so much fun.

I ll help look out some YouTube links..

Although its been a while for me too but I believe every kid around has what it takes to learn crypto.

They learn music, science and art.. They ll understand those words if well put into practice..

And it is good you re teaching them on the go and not having to know everything before joining like some adults do.
